Outside of Ohio State going forward what Pac 12 and Big 10 jobs are coveted?

If you were a hotshot coach would you take a Big 10 or Pac 12 job? I got to think Cristobal is waiting on Nick to retire or the Miami coach to stumble.

USC being in California and the politics there would scare me away. Seriously, I'd rather live in any SEC town over the L.A. metro area.

I’m not sure what bridges were burnt with Cristobal and Miami, but I remember hearing that he and Miami weren’t on good terms. A lot can be forgiven when you can start winning at a big program

You have to think that USC will be opening up soon, and UCLA. I just don’t know if a PAC 12 job is that great anymore.

Iowa will be open pretty soon (not sure about how great that is). Michigan can’t seem to get their crap together. Ohio St. is set for awhile. Penn St. is set for awhile, I believe. Illinois should be a prime job for anyone, there just seems to be issues.

I forgot that Washington is a quality job, but they just hired a coach that I believe is a good one.

The way Miami acts about Cristobal makes me think they wanted him to replace Al Golden as head coach. I think Cristobal will stay still until a great job opens up in the South. Depending on how long Saban stays coaching I think Cristobal or Sark could be the next coaches at A&M or Texas.

Iowa is a great job. Expectations aren't that high, the fan base is great, they pay well, and they don't like firing coaches. Also, the Iowa state government is largely conservative.

Quiet as it's kept Lovie Smith has done a great job at Illinois. Illinois is a lot like California politically now especially with Chicago running the politics of the state and damn near the entire midwest. Also your instate pool of Black athletes is decreasing in Illinois. Illinois especially Chicago might have the largest Black outmigration of any U.S. city.

Yes he has and he doesn’t get the credit. That job shouldn’t be as difficult as it is, but he’s done a very good job. At a Southern school, I believe he would be a home run hire or at least close to one.

USC could be a monster again if they chose to. I'm not sure their admin. and BOT is fully on-board with it.

Yeah don’t sleep on USC. Remember they were crap before Carroll got there. The right coach and they can pretty much own the west coast and print a playoff ticket every year.

Mich will always be a good job. PSU...Nebraska has lost a lot of luster. Oregon will always be good with Nike money. Washington to some degree is good.

But UM and PSU are the only ones up there a notch below OSU

USC will never go away, they will always be a blue blood. Too much tradition and local talent in California. Just need the right coach to point them in the right direction.

If any blueblood needs to have a surge up the food chain it's the Huskers. I'm starting to wonder if Frost can recruit himself out of the middle of the road mire they've been in now for a time.

I saw where Oregon's LT, a top 5 draft projection, opted out. ESPN was making a big deal about it yesterday. Then I got to thinking, Oregon opted out first, he just has better things to do this spring.

USC is USC. As soon as Helton clears the building the Ghost of John McKay, Robinson, Caroll, will rattle around and kids will keep streaming to the mecca of Pac 12 football.

Frost turned down Joe Burrow. Let that resonate.

No use in waiting to get paid if your school isn't going to play.

They have said the same thing about Nebraska and Michigan for years. Just because it is easier for a blue blood to come back doesn't mean it is automatic. I think most modern players would rather play at Alabama, Clemson, LSU, or Georgia. Most freshman players were 2 years old the last time USC was good.

USC has never had to deal with football having less cultural significance in California and the outright socialism that's dominating California politics. USC is in trouble.

The administration seems hell bent on pushing that team to mediocrity. USC is the best job in the PAC-12, and it's not close.

Nebraska is a great place, but relying on what worked 20 - 30 years ago is killing that program. I remember going on my visit, they were the first to use field turf in their facilities, plus they were years ahead of other schools with their nutrition and exercise physiology programs.

I think of things in the long-term but Washington and Oregon are the two best jobs, imo.

Nebraska is in a rut, some of it not its own doing.

Michigan's best days is behind them.

CFB will be a regional sport in a generation or two.
