The next time a coordinator gets hired after the regular season, pat him on the back and say thanks for your service and show him the door. The offense had no rhyme or reason to it tonight. We run the ball down their throat so let’s start passing because it is fun. They couldn’t stop Najee. Totally unprepared all the way around. The worst coaching performance Saban has had here.

Saban's tendency to "take the air out of the ball" during the season likely contributed to this.
It prevented the team from developing a killer mentality and led to developing bad habits.

Unfortunately true. Saban mentioned that Clemson was just copycatting things that other teams used successfully against Alabama.
I think Saban is frustrated that his assistant coaches are essentially helpless when it comes to game planning and coaching players up. Essentially Trooper Taylors.

This team talked too much all year. Just wasn’t disciplined enough. If we had some teams like we did in the past we bounce back and at least make a game out of this. This was just a reflection on some of our players.
