The tournament is all about the luck of the draw. Id take winning the SEC and be ecstatic just making the elite 8 for the second time ever.

ETA: with that being said, yes we are winning the championship.

More than that.
Take Auburn s Final Four team from a few years ago.
Their most likely defeat?
First round game against New Mexico State.
NMS guy is fouled shooting a 3 pointer with 1 second to go, down 2 points. Make all 3, Auburn is bounced in the first round.
He makes only 1 of 3, AU wins by 1

And we have to remember that Burnett will be back in a relatively short amount of time. He is a big part of this team.

Just thought we needed at least one bball thread on the front page to give praise to this badass bball team we have. Go eat something and calm down fat kid.

That’s true 100%, but if you’ve got a team that’s tougher and plays harder than the opponent you can beat anybody and we have a bunch this year that does just that.

Pretty damn talented too.

I think one of the main keys to winning the tournament is depth, and this is the deepest Bama team I’ve ever seen.

I always thought that Depth was one thing that Wimps great teams lacked, time and again. It seemed we were always missing that one more talented player to take us over the top. Wimps recruiting area was pretty limited hence his choices were limited too.
He had 4-5 good to great players every year but the 7,8 and 9th players you need to go deep in the tournament were ordinary. One year when he got Whatley,Bobby Lee,Rex Jones and Mark Farmer we missed on Charles Barkley, if he gets Barkley we might have gone to The Final Four or even win it.

This team is developing a Nick Saban philosophy by trying to "MAKE THEIR ARSE QUIT" and I applaud Nate Oats for learning from Nick Saban and implementing some of his teachings to his BASKETBALL TEAM.

I'll take a Final Four appearance...2 wins beyond that would be incredible.

But we've been conditioned for tournament disappointment over the years as Bama basketball fans. Like someone said, luck of the draw goes a long way.

Yes, the luck of the draw is true.

I just think this team has IT if they can put it all together.

This team has talent, fight, depth, and chemistry. Nobody is gonna shell-shock them out of a game. A bunch of alphas and not just 1 or 2 people that can get it done. Crazy enough, I see a lot of room for improvement. The team is still improving. When we have a night everyone is on, we have great potential.....Brandon Miller will go pro, but it wouldn't hurt him to get another year of college under his belt. He needs one more year to mature and get more consistent.

They absolutely do. Our floor is high based on the multitude of ways we can score and our defensive level and we have a star who can take over games for 2-3 minute stretches.

Like was said above, the tournament is hard as hell and matchup based, but we are built to matchup with just about anybody and are not a boom of bust team in the least. We struggle with patient, efficient offense making shots (Gonzaga) and could struggle with powerful bigs (UConn, Purdue) but those types of teams are EXTREMELY rare in 2023 college basketball, and we wouldn't see them until the Elite 8 or Final 4.

We are legitimate national title contenders.

I'm old, so I'm still sticking with the 1976 squad. Young fans don't realize how special that team was.. they had all the pieces. Had the tournament format been like it is now, they were a final 4 team.

But this current team has a chance to do something really special

we think we could win it all. then in the sweet 16 they hire doug shows brother, if he has a brother, to ref the game. isn't that how it works? whenever the sec wants bama to lose, they send shows and his crew to call 35-40 fouls on bama?
