Words can have multiple meanings, especially newly made up slang. Anyone who says otherwise is wrong. For instance bumpin means an awesome party to some people and to others is bumping a thread to the top so people can see the topic, and that is just the slang definitions.

You say that, but by every account, low-skilled, low-wage jobs have been disproportionately affected by the lockdown. I thought that's what the people in here yelling about opening up the state were yelling about in the first place: that the elites don't care about their small businesses or the working class in general. Did I miss something?

Brookings

Which is it then? Is it, as has been alleged in this thread, that the elites don't care about ending the lockdown because it hasn't affected their income? Or is it, as you argue here, that the lazy just don't want to go back to work? Seems very odd that somebody would try to argue both could be true.

Of course, there are other data points that seem to affect people's views of the lockdown. For example, level of education:

Axios

Interesting that the more educated classes disproportionately see the need for continued social distancing if as you say here, it's all just lazy people. I guess you consider people with secondary degrees - doctors, lawyers, engineers, etc - to be lazier than those who dropped out of high school and got their GED? That logic strikes me as...odd.

Do you have literally anything to support your view that the laziest people are the ones advocating the lockdown?

Salon Owner in Dallas Sentenced to 7 Days in Jail

It's going to be so fun to watch these states get absolutely destroyed in court.

I am somewhat of a proponent of the lock down so now I am lazy. I still have to work but we lost half of our income because my wife can not work. So yes I have something to lose. If anything expending more time and energy now with my kids. But you go ahead like the others on the ledge and make those assumptions.

That's irrelevant. The state isn't requiring people to wear masks.

So you are one of those that can only find happiness in destruction. You have a lot of bitterness and anger in you. We can always find ways to enjoy life no matter what cards have been dealt to us. Take break and go outside.

Context clues should tell you that's not how I meant the word "destroy" in that sentence.

Says the guy who doesn't know the definition of the word "destroy."

ETA: You guys were arguing the definition of what a Karen is. I was correcting you. Apparently I'm about to have to correct you about the word "destroy" as well.

I am confused is that not the definition?

Maybe Webster does not know anything either

I never once mentioned Karen other then to say I had no idea what it meant when someone called me that. So again you are wrong. Slow your roll down and take a deep breathe.

Statement from Alabama's attorney general tonight to smack down the constitutional scholars in this thread.

quote:

“Sheriffs and police chiefs throughout Alabama have endeavored to work alongside their citizens to protect public health without being heavy-handed and that should continue until the order is lifted. Health risks vary widely in every situation and local officials are best suited to make decisions about enforcement from the front lines. The Attorney General agrees that enforcement of the order against churches would be ill-advised. He has been assured that the State Health Order will soon be amended to better accommodate the free exercise of religion.”

One minute anti government next using them to support his cause.

Thanks for that link as it points out that the government has done nothing wrong.

Not illegal mind you just ill-advised. Maybe that your dictionary has a different definition.

quote:

He never said it was unlawful or prevented free exercise of religion. Just wants to better accommodate. I know people like you that can not be wrong will take something to try and spin it. But it is pretty clear what he said and at no time is there a mention of breaking the law, infringing on someone's rights, or a violation of the Constitution.

Karen keep trying though. Let me know if I did that wrong.

So you don't see the difference in a chiropractor, who works on people's backs, generally while they are laying face down, and can wear a mask, and a dentist, who absolutely has to come into prolonged contact with other people as he or she sits inches away from them with their mouths open? You really don't understand how that is so different?

You're wrong on most aspects of how you describe a chiropractor (laying face down describes massage therapists better than chiropractors, but massage therapists are closed so...), but I still do not see a difference at all. My father-in-law is a dentist. They wear full face masks, gloves, and are fully covered. They might be the least likely to get this from contact with their clients.

Another crazy thing I learned today: tanning beds are open, but hair salons are not? You guys can keep defending this crap all you want, but it won't be holding up in court.

I just read what he said. I know you like to twist things to fit your narrative but I guess people can interpret things differently. Except with you as your interpretation is always right. Isn't princess.
