Bottom line. If we put a product on the field next year similar or worse that this year? Courtney Morgan won't have a job at Alabama because we'll be looking for a new Head Coach at years end.

There is a zero percent chance CKD is fired if we go to the SEC championship and 2nd round of the playoffs again.

It is very much so. Especially in this day and age of CFB

Even if Bama crashes and burns next season, there is zero chance CKD is fired. Can’t afford to fire him next year. UA might possibly have the $$ to fire him after the 2027 season. Regardless. we’re stuck with him two more seasons, maybe more.

I ain’t willing to donate either and I’m damn sure going to complain when/if the team is playing like garbage. Why? Because the coach is making more money in a year than I’ll see in a lifetime. If anyone don’t like it, Sue me

I think players are fair game for criticism about their play on the field since they are getting paid. I just also think fans who don’t donate but bitch and moan about losing players to the portal or not getting the top portal guys are dumb. The teams competing at a high level are spending well outside the rev share numbers and that money has to come from somewhere and someone.

The Alabama coach could be getting paid minimum wage and a gas card and you still complaining lol.

I cannot argue this point and still tell the truth. I’d probably want his gas card cut after the first loss

I’m not going to attack anyone that chooses to donate their money to a kid to come play a season at Bama and make more money than most Drs, in fact I’ll tell them thank you. But if you want to get on the subject of who’s dumb or not for not wanting to donate to the cause, then I guess I’m guilty as charged. It seems inflation has had a bigger impact on college football players than any other industry. I remember when Auburn only paid $180,000 for a quarterback 15 years ago and that won them a natty. It’s gotten too rich for my blood. I’ll invest in other things with my little bit of extra money. I know I’m dumb, but I’m also an a-hole

The staff should have known by the end of September that OL, especially tackles was going to be a critical area of need and should have begun creating a plan to address that need through high school recruiting (which is almost certainly a solution for the future, not today), JUCO’s and the portal. The portal is the hardest because you don’t know for certain who will be available and who won’t. We should have hit the JUCO’s hard and had offers ready for portal entrants as soon as they hit it. High school recruiting went pretty well but again, that probably isn’t a 2026 solution. I didn’t hear a thing about pursuing JUCO kids despite our neighboring state of Mississippi having one of the most robust JUCO football systems in the country. Why is that the case?
Now we are scrambling to find kids in the portal and appear to be failing miserably. We are going to end up with someone else’s scraps that aren’t an upgrade and may possibly be a downgrade if that’s possible. That is a major indictment for the staff and a huge area of concern that must be addressed immediately.
And I’ll add this: many of you say we can’t afford to fire DeBoer after next season and I understand what you mean and taken at face value, I’d agree with you. But for the long term stability of the Alabama football program, if the ship isn’t righted immediately, we can’t afford NOT to fire him. If we fall behind and become the post-Bryant version of Alabama, we can’t just update the facilities to state of the art and be a contender in the new world of professional college football. We won’t have the money or the prestige to attract top talent anymore. If DeBoer doesn’t put a team on the field that can compete with anyone in the country next season, it is incumbent on Byrne to find the money somewhere to fire him and do whatever it takes to obtain the services of Cignetti or Cristobal or Lanning or someone else that can keep Alabama among the blue bloods of the sport.

I guess this means we don’t feel confident about getting Coleman.

I wouldn’t necessarily take it that way. We lost 5 WRs to the portal plus Bernard to the draft. So that’s 6 we lost. We only have 1 coming in this freshman class. Adding 2 more receivers isn’t a bad idea. Especially considering the talent of both of these guys. Probably give us the best Wr room in the nation

None of those 3 guys are coming to Alabama. The reasons why should be obvious. Lanning has a blank check & a long leash. Cristobal has put his alma mater in the NCG & it would be insane for Cignaetti to leave one year after he creates one of the greatest cfb stories of all time.

The man just played for and SECC, won 11 games , has the #2 recruiting class coming in, and made the CFB playoffs and won a game in year 2 . I would call that competing pretty well. He should have taken the Michigan or Penn State job.
Oats lost tonight to one of the worst teams in the league at home . Has lost two in a row . Guess we need to fire his arse too while we are at it .

Here’s the problem: the Clearinghouse is approving just about everything. They are supposed to determine if the deal is at fair market value. How can they determine that? There’s virtually no previous history, so unless the offer is completely outlandish, the offer IS fair market value because that is the market. If they try to be more stringent, they will get sued. The Clearinghouse was broken from the start.

A couple/few months ago the Clearinghouse had rejected 75% of submittals. I suppose it was for the year, but idk. I was shocked and impressed.

I think Ty declaring for the NFL draft was a big factor in his decision to enter the portal - maybe the biggest factor. They've been extremely close since their HS days and Ty's presence was a major draw to Alabama in the first place.

You want the guy who's 0-3 vs Deboer and also got arse blasted by Indiana to succeed Deboer?

KD is not going to get fired anytime soon, so that's not going to happen. We can't compete with the Texases of the world, their NIL spending is 30-35 mil.

We just have to learn how to play "money ball" get kids that are cheaper and coach them up.

KD does not need to be let go, but the OL,RB, ST coaches need to be gone. Grubbs gets one more year then he needs to go if the offense doesn't improve drastically since we have an offense HC.

At the end of the day I can't and won't get upset about the portal and us not getting big name guys.

Big bank will always beat little bank, and many of you need to accept that we are little bank.

I would add the DL coach probably needs go. While CKW has done a great job this year, I don’t like his scheme. Unless I’m mistaken, they ran the same one at UW with a different DC. If you watch the national championship game against Michigan the run defense looked identical to our games against FSU and Indiana.
