Folks will have to worry about more important things than nil.

Lance Heard reportedly got $3MM to go to Kentucky... he had a worse pass blocking grade the Formby on PFF. Formby got $1.7MM from A&M. These numbers are absolute insanity for very average OL. Peak has a 83% pass blocking grade from PFF vs Formby's 80%... if Heard got $3MM Peak had to be in the $4MM range and Alabama just doesn't have the money to blow $4MM on one guy.

If 30%+ of cfb players truly are/were in the portal then surely there are some unheralded hog mollies from UW-Whitewater , UW-River Falls, or fkn Montana State that we can grab. I mean, how much worse can the oline get than last year? Not much.

In other retarded Transfer Portal news, we are now in a 3-day Dead Period.

That's right. A 3-Day Dead Period in the middle of the 15-Day Transfer Portal window.

fricking unreal.

Hill, Dear and Crowell. Have a guy from a small University who is on a traditional scholarship only as an option only if 2-3 Backs go down. NFL teams carry 2 and some 3 on a Sunday. No reason to dilute NIL money by carrying 5 RBs. Dear, Riley and Mitchell contributed absolutely nothing this season. I’m not saying they aren’t talented, I’m simply pointing out that Hill and Miller took all the meaningful snaps. If you lose 3 RBs all in the same season then that’s just a freak thing. That’s a risk you have to take when other programs have 2-3x’s the money to spend than Bama does.

Wasn’t he a “name to watch” if Coach Kap moved on? So much for that.

I do not believe this at all. You know there is a cap on NIL and a program can't exceed the cap of 20.5 million. Kentucky is not paying an OL 3 million.

You’re foolish if you think people give a frick about that 20.5m number. Go look at what the Texas schools are doing.

There is no cap on NIL. The revenue share cap is $20.5 million for all sports, but NIL "deals" are basically still unlimited. Rev share was an attempt at parity, but one court case blew that up and basically deemed that irrelevant.

That’s just revenue share. Johnny Oildick from Texas can give a kicker 50 mil if he wants. It’s uncapped.

That cap is only from the school. Outside of the school guys are still getting massive money. Hell, we know for a fact that Texas is paying Arch $10million, Brown $3million, Smothers $3 million, and Coleman somewhere around $3.5million(or more). Thats over the 20 mill alone.

Yep and we really don't have the resources to compare to theses schools.

We were paying out STARTING QB 400k last year while LSU is offering more than 10 times that after buying out multiple coaches and signing a new one to a crazy extension

Let me make this suggestion to all Bama fans. Enjoy basketball while we are still competitive. The same big money football NIL backers will soon turn their attention to bball. Additionally, schools with no football or non competitive football, i.e, UConn, St. John’s, ‘Nova etc, will spend for players. We should forget a new arena because kids don’t care about facilities anymore, only money. Redirect the donations to players. I don’t like the game, but we’re either in it or out.

Notre Dame's first portal signing!

Looks like they just got a WR from anOSU as well.

All true. They better hope they can win quick because the program will die if they don't. They've leveraged everything they have.
