I want them to actually look and act like they have some semblance of a plan. Let’s not act like we’re only losing out to Texas at the moment. Yeah, the transfer portal is like the NFL free agency, most players are technically going to be overpaid, but let’s also not act like we’re a school looking for loose change.
We’ve seen the portal level up schools like Indiana, Miami, Ole Miss, etc. I don’t think it’s too much to ask for this staff to lock in and bring some talent in and it’s not too much for fans to have the same expectation.

Correct. We’re 15th in the SEC in the portal at the moment. Not only are we losing guys, but we’re getting out maneuvered so we are even losing leverage, optics and precious time. If the coaches had zero plan for the portal, then this last week wouldn’t have looked any different.
We can blame big money schools outbidding us but this staff isn’t exactly playing moneyball either.

Exactly.
I know who our richest booster is. Texas has 100 boosters worth more than him.
This sport is fricked. We really should pivot to basketball. Oats would win multiple titles with a top 3 NiL.
edit: It may not actually be 100, but I wouldnt be suprised. Its definitely more than 25.

Oregon has 3 DL that just entered the portal plus FSU and UNC with big DT players in there … hopefully we can get one of them

There are. There are a number of good DL out there in the portal. Will Courtney Morgan try to sign a minimum of two? I hope so but not terribly hopeful.
