The next stop on the coaching carousel...

OC: Please get rid of Rees.
DC: Schumann?

I hope so. I would have thought UW would have considered him for HC there.

Pretty sure that is still a possibility. He probably will take Grubb assuming he is an option.

Grubb and TRob would be best case scenario.

Need Roach to stay too. Bring his OL coach.

Went to highschool with Freddie and his brothers. My bet is if Deboer will hire him he would stay. They LOVE bama.

FWIW DeBoers current DC runs a 4-2-5 and Kirby and Shu run the 3-4. So it might not be a schematic fit. It depends on how much control DeBoer wants over the defense since he's an offensive guy.

How much of this is semantics at this point though?

How many times in the last 5 years have we been primarily base 3-4? Maybe against Michigan?

Even against UGA we’re usually heavy nickel which is just a different way of saying 4-2-5.

Running base 4-2-5 is not the same though as running base 3-4 and moving to heavy nickel. The player types recruited and the way you coach up those players can vary widely.

That's true, but Bama has been recruiting a sort of hybrid player since Saban reworked the defense around ten years ago.
