Not taking up for it in anyway but a DUI does not mean one has a drinking problem. Those usually show themselves pretty early on . I will also say that very few on this board can say they have never driven home when they would have registered for a DUI . Not condoning but some have been luckier than others.

Who said both coaches and players are held to the same standard? Nobody did....

All I said that is given how Saban handled the situation with players, He's likely to do the same with Golding... which is handle it internal within the program and say there will be no additional comments...

I highly doubt that he get fired for this.. but who knows what happened that led to him getting arrested. Let's wait for whole story to come out before judging...

Bear88,

I agree. I've done that in the past.. and many of us have done that... so I don't think any of us should say that knowing that we've done this before.

My wife had 2 glass of wine at a nice restaurant and she was giddy and all, but she was not drunk, tipsy or anything like that. Cop down the street was watching her and pulled her over as soon she pulled out of downtown garage. Long story short, case was dimissed.

All I'm saying, let's wait for whole story to come out before we jump to conclusion.

You just equated the handling of players and coaches. Golding should be gone, period.

If he had three beers, got pulled over for a rolling stop, and blew a .09 then firing him for that would be stupid. If he got into a wreck, was double the limit, going 75 in a 45 or something like that then I'd certainly lean more towards firing him though.

Yes, that's not equating.

What a great example for the players. He looks like a freakin'drunk when he's sober.

Everyone makes mistakes. Hopefully Pete learns from this. As someone said earlier, he makes to much to drink quiet a few brews, then get behind the wheel.
I don't see Pete losing his job. Saban will preach to him, handle it internally.

His bond is 500 dollars. Probably feels safer from CNS in county.

They just want to know how much playing time, how much NIL money is coming their way, and where do you think he will get drafted?

Like our former first round WR?

I wonder if the thought of Henry Ruggs will weigh on Saban's mind and if he perhaps places greater importance now on the coaches' examples they set, in light of that tragic occurrence.
