Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and agree with you there.
Like I said, I only had Hurts behind BB due to there being zero precedent for a TF QB under CNS. You have to acknowledge the pattern.
I think what we are seeing is a fanbase that is weary of facing teams with superior QB's, and constantly being told that the team may not be there in the end because the QB is a liability or "a question mark."
What is the common denominator in literally every single one of Bamas losses during the CNS era ?
The opposition either had a smoking hot QB, or a flat out difference maker at QB.
Tebow, Johnny F, Cam, 12 gauge, damn near Watson, etc., etc.,...
The best Bama has had was McCarron, and lets face it he was not a first round talent, or a guy that struck fear into opposing D-Coordinators.
Technically our generation of Bama fans has never had a Namath. Never had our Tebow. Never had a Watson. Never had an Andrew Luck.
This fanbase is starving for an uber talented QB. This fanbase wants to go into games hearing pundits and analyst talk about how the other D is going TO HAVE TO FIND A WAY STOP OUR QUARTERBACK instead of vice versa.

Sorry didn't finish my thought there.
So I believe its about our generation wanting our Namath, and the two younger guys representing that possibility.
Bateman would be another guaranteed year of being outgunned by the oppositions QB in the playoffs, and everyone wondering if the Defense can save the day... again.
Obviously Bama scores a lot of points so that perception may not be reality, but I do feel that is how the fanbase perceives the QB/offense, and they really want their time to have that mismatch at the QB position in their favor.

You literally attack anyone who doesn't co-sign BB8 and your exaggerations about every media member saying he is the best are nonsense, because many have said Hurts has been.
Give it a rest.
Give it a rest.

Just heard some interesting info on Hurts performance at practice last night, if he performs at the scrimmage this is gonna get really interesting. I usually don't get excited but this is great stuff.

Alabama was back on the practice field Friday for its final tuneup before its first scrimmage, in what was its 11th fall-camp practice. The Crimson Tide practiced indoors and in shells on a rainy, 82-degree afternoon.
Here are several tidbits from the Crimson Tide’s Friday practice session in Tuscaloosa:
- Redshirt sophomore Marlon Humphrey fully participated in defensive back drills Friday during the one media viewing period. The third-year cornerback sat out of nickel drill in the team’s Thursday night practice session.
- Quarterback David Cornwell (foot) continues to be limited. He did, however, participate in the quarterback’s passing drills with wide receivers, throwing a couple of picture-perfect deep balls in the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility.
- Transfer wide receiver Gehrig Dieter is the first player I’ve seen wearing a support apparatus on his hamstring in fall camp. Dieter wore it on his left hamstring, and although he ran routes, he needed to be stretched out.
- After being limited earlier in the week, linebacker Keith Holcombe and running back Joshua Jacobs are back to drills. Jacobs went through running back drills behind Bo Scarbrough, Damien Harris and B.J. Emmons.
- The offensive line has been consistent since the second practice of fall camp with, from left to right, Cam Robinson, Lester Cotton, Ross Pierschbacher, Bradley Bozeman and Jonah Williams making up the first group.
- Bradley Bozeman has received majority, if not all, of the first-team reps at right guard in place of last year’s starter Alphonse Taylor, who is currently suspended. Bozeman recently received some high praise from Nick Saban.
“Bradley Bozeman has done a really good job,” Saban said Wednesday evening. “I thought he had a really good spring. He’s a tough guy. He really understands. He can play center, guard or tackle for us, so we’re really pleased with the progress he’s made. He gives us a lot of depth at a lot of different positions.”
*** What’s next: Alabama will hold its first scrimmage of fall camp Saturday at 1 p.m. CT inside Bryant-Denny Stadium. It will be closed to the public. Saban will hold a post-scrimmage press conference around 3 p.m.

This concerns me more than this

And Saban saying the below doesn't exactly scream "He's a beast who has locked down RG". Sounds more like "he's a player who can help us in a lot of places in stretches, but we need Shank to get his act in gear"

I kinda got the same message, describing BB as you would a swing tackle/6th lineman.
I'm not a Shank fan, I think he plays too high and is a penalty magnet, but I can't talk up BB too much either.

I hope we have a package for Hurts regardless
Reminds me of the quote from Saban during Manziels freshman year where they were asking how we'd scout for him and Saban said "we don't have anyone on Scout who can play like him, or they'd be starting"

I agree. Hurts reminds me of JFF, but with a head on his shoulders.

Meh. The last guy that was like this was basically Barrett Jones.
He seemed to do okay for us.

Wut ? B.Jones was the no.1 rated Center in the country out of H.S. on one of the services.
I think you may be thinking of William Vlachos ?
Either way I agree Bozeman seems like a solid contributor to me.
Petitbon is injured. Brown is overweight. The only real options are Warmack, Kennedy, or Bozeman, and Bozeman is the bigger, stronger, more experienced of the three so... why is everyone shitting on Bozeman ?

Let's compare a reserve up til this fall to arguably the most decorated lineman in Alabama history
Barrett played all 3 well, best compliment for Bozeman thus far is he can play all 3. That ability isn't unique by any means, hell Ross Pierschbacher is doing it now. Alfred McCullough did it years ago, made starts as the 6th lineman.

I would rather have Kennedy then Bozeman or Shank at RG. Kennedy has way more upside. Whoever wins the RG job, they will only have it for this year. Alex Leatherwood will be the staring RG against FSU in 2017.

I don't know anyone over the age of 25 who is "starving" for the next Namath. In fact, I think a lot of the Bama fans I know are leery of us turning into a pass-oriented team. This fascination with bright shiny things kills me. We don't need to change who we are. You make your offense a QB-centric attack and all it takes is for him to have an off day and goodbye playoff hopes.
