Can we assume that Taylor would really like another NFL over working the college route again thus the reason this deal hasn't been completed at this time? Or is Nick not completely sold on Taylor as his guy?

The Taylor deal has been out their for several days or longer.

I don't think any of those should be assumed. Saban is being thorough. Taylor may have other options as well.

Does Punnozio move to an off field position. Apparently Butch Jones is not an on field coach again

Has Sark been confirmed as OC at Bama yet...or did I just over look that?

I don't think NS has confirmed anything. Has the university officially released anything on any of the coaches

They’re will be an official press release from Saban at some point. But nothing is ever official until the board meets to make the contracts official.

Taylor loves Alabama and I believe spent two years on staff as a GA when Saban first got here. I think he'd like to come back, but I think Saban is making sure all the parts fit together first.

Still TBD.

I don't expect Pannunzio or Jones to be on-field coaches for the 2019 season -- jmo.

I've heard Pannunzio needs major knee (joint replacement) surgery. I've also heard he may be wanting to move back to S FL and hoping to get a position in the Dolphins organization.

Jones is getting an $8M buyout at $200k/mo. thru Feb-2021 from UT, reduced by what Bama pays him. With HC, OC, TE, RB & WR coaching experience, he can be a big help to the offensive staff in an off-field capacity, costing Bama intern pay while costing one of our rivals A LOT. And Jones will likely get an OC or HC job somewhere fairly soon. Imo, it just doesn't make much sense for him to be an on-field position coach at Bama.

I understand that but you think a board member is going to over turn a NS hire. Don't think so

Lol. Not a chance. But Saban is never in a hurry to announce officially either.

Before NSD we will have a full staff in place at least internally, the recruits will know who will be here in the Summer as their coaches. We may not find out until a few days after depending on whether the Co-DC is a major name at another school and we are waiting to reduce his buyout until after NSD.

Potential 2019 staff -- various possibilities:

OC/QB - Sarkisian
RB - Huff
WR - Taylor, Wiggins or Jones
TE/ST - Banks (see note on STs)
OL - Flood

DC - Lake, other* or Golding
DBs - Scott and Kelly, Golding or DC
ILB - Golding (CoDC or DC), Kelly or Roach
OLB - Kelly, Sunseri or Roach
DL - Kugliowski, Sunseri, Roach, Bates or Davis

* I seent rumblings that Saban has two other experienced DC candidates.

STs could be split; e.g., Banks - Kicking STs, Kelley or Huff - Return STs.

TW: "Nothing has been ironed out with Jones... His situation is TBD."

I heard Pannunzio needs a major knee surgery.
It appears Joe and Butch may both be off-field.

Not me, but I did place a double wammy Sicilian/Cajun hex on Gattis and Enos. Their fates are sealed.

I'm telling ya, QB coach will be a standalone position in 2019, just like 2018.

The ILBs will likely be coached by the DC.

Remember, if the OC is also the QB coach, the the QBs don't have a position coach on the sidelines during games - the only position with this condition. Of all the positions to do this to, QB ain't the one.

If that happens something went wrong elsewhere in the hiring process. I understand your reasoning, but with Sark as the hire, it is a waste to have a standalone QB coach when we could get another positonal coach on defense.

I dònt know. I think Sark might call the game from the booth and Saban likes to have a coach with the QB. It will be interesting how they hire
