The ILBs will likely be coached by the DC.
Remember, if the OC is also the QB coach, the the QBs don't have a position coach on the sidelines during games - the only position with this condition. Of all the positions to do this to, QB ain't the one.
Is ILB really a better position to do this with? I have my doubts.

So Coach K will coach them up through spring drills and then he goes to the bullpen and Bo takes over his spot. That is an odd arrangement for sure. It takes two to tango so K has to be willing to play along with Nick thus the money is right.
Jr Day is this weekend so maybe some news on Sark breaks before Friday. Bama has 3-4 2019 recruits on official visits this weekend as well.

Would Coach Kool take a position like what Bobby Williams had to Saban before he left?

You seem bent on making assumptions and drawing conclusions.
Eta: Maybe I'm reading too much into the way you worded that, along with some prior posts where it sounded like you were assuming Saban had already decided some things.

You've been doing the same thing. Member last week when you said Enos would be OC and he left for Miami the next day? I member.
You're doing the same with Butch Jones one page back.

I 'member. Saban was blindsided by Enos.

I stated opinions -- what "I think" about some of Butch's abilities and why "I think" his role is more likely to be off-field staff. I didn't assume or imply that it's a forgone conclusion. I'm quite content to wait and see how the restaffing plays out.

I thought the show cause had to do with recruiting visits. Bo will be able to coach spring ball if that's the case.
I am not elevating Bo to a Frank Broyles award winner, but he can coach AND recruit better than average. He will stay as long as Nick will have him. Kool lacks on the recruiting side, and Bo can get kids out of Texas.
I am happy with what we are ending up with. I was prepared for Lake from the beginning, so not a loss.

Is Butch still being paid by TN? If he is still in the buyout phase he might make the same bottom line money no mater where he coaches or what he does.

I am pretty sure he is but Butch needs to get back in the game or it will derail his career. I assume he wants to be a HC again.

What I have my doubts about is a dedicated OLB coach. I see no reason why one of the following 2 scenarios isn't superior:
1) OLBs coached by the Dline coach
2) LB coach coaches both OLBs and ILBs
If I was the coach, I would prefer either of the above 2 scenarios which would accomplish 2 things: freeing up the DC to not coach a position group (if desired), and allowing me to have a dedicated QB coach.
Having said all that, if I have to choose a group to not have a position coach on the sidelines, ILB ain't first - but QB is absolutely last and there's no debate.

I think you only spend a spot on a QB coach if you can get someone like an Enos who is truly a top level QB coach. Otherwise, especially in order to win next year, an ILB coach is far more valuable to us. Sark can do both for Tua/Lia.
I am with you that a QB coach now that a 10th spot is open is very valuable and for the 2020 staff I believe saban will have a dedicated qb coach for Tyson/Lia/Whoever we get as an incoming freshman.
Also OLB/ILB are such different positions for us in terms of what we need from them, unless we are hiring an elite linebackers coach, we are sacrificing pass rushing or ILB play to put them both under one coach in a year when we will need a ton of specialized coaching for Moses who will be the signal caller and probably Kaho.

Since we are all cooking pasta here and seeing what sticks, I just can’t see Kool, one of the most respected DL coaches in the country going to an off the field role. There would be too much demand for him to take a demotion IMO

Assuming Sark is a good QB coach, it seems to me he could be DC/QB Coach and call plays from the sideline.

Or he could pocket his $2.4 M/year paycheck from Tenn, and get another year with Saban under his belt.

If the money is right, he might like not having to deal with recruiting.
