I think saban makes all his hires with future eventualities in mind. I do love this staff he is putting together. It may be too late in the process to effect this year's recruiting class (other than negative by losing to primary recruiters on several of our top prospects), but these guys are all young, good coaches and great recruiters, and Enos is a proven developer of passing qbs

Banks may coach TEs, but I don't think he will coach RBs in any scenario. And it is not even certain Burton Burns is retiring.

If Locksley is OC, I don’t see him leaving

I don’t either. His first head coaching opportunity was atrocious. It would take a little while to repair his image on that front.

What's the latest on freezus ? He expected to take an analyst position ?

The thing I am most excited about by Enos is his consistent focus on play action. We have had a stable of running backs the last two years who have not been able to take advantage of a defense that has to keep it's safeties back. Harris, Harris, and Jacobs fixin ta eat!

I think Freeze does take an analyst position.

As long as he doesn't push us back to archaic offense, I'm good.
The power spread is who we should be and it utilizes our QB, our WRs and our different types of Tbs.
If he wants us to go back to under the center, clouds of dust, I-form run run run short playaction crap? He can let the door hit him on his way out.

U realize Locksley is the OC right? I doubt a QB coach will be able to steer the entire working of the O. I might remind you that this is NS's offense and the OC's bring in a few nuances.

Amen to that. I've been preaching it for 2 years, much to the consternation of some posters.

and I have no problem with the QB lining up under center for some of the plays.

That's what still concerns me, though the Nick Saban/AJ McCarron offense was nothing like the Nick Saban/Jalen Hurts offense, so there is some hope.
edit: I don't think he'd have hired Enos unless we were going back more to a pro style offense, which would require the qb that can run that sort of offense.

So control the clock, own the LOS and make big chunk plays.
Perfect

Enos is not married to under-center I-formation offense just because he has that acumen. That style is Bert's (and Harbaugh's) preference.
Saban's preference nowadays is the modern pro-style (shotgun, power-spread, play-action) with some RPOs mixed in.
Enos is fluent in all of this stuff, except maybe less so with RPOs. But Locksley has the RPO acumen.

You posted that to me, but you may have meant to respond to YStar. I don't know a lot about Enos, but I know enough that he can produce a balanced pro style offense. Actually, even Saban hasn't run an "archaic" offense like YStar talked about.
Honestly, a lot of whether or not you have an efficient and balanced offense is predicated on the qb, regardless how you line up. I think we'll be ok next year.
And as noted, Locksley has the title of O.C. but I think
Enos will probably have good input as to type of offense and game planning.

Also, Enos really didn't run much I-formation fullback offense at Arkansas. Once Austin Allen took over they were almost exclusively 1-back and shotgun. When they did go 2 back it was almost always an H-Back or TE who motioned or offset the I.

I will admit that I am a little concerned that, after the initial reports of Enos to Alabama, we've heard nothing else. I hope this doesn't get screwed up somehow

so is enos in t-town now? or is this move still in the "possibility" zone?
