I agree with you most of the time, but.....

Tua crashing and burning in the playoffs or bowl game > Jalen shitting the bed in the playoffs or bowl game.

At least with Tua we get to see/try something new.

Edit: I fully expect and know Tua won’t be starting the next game, ha.

That's my point, we all know who is playing QB in our next game. How do we get an identity for it. That's all I'm getting at. I'm staying in the present here.

I can see your point with a playoff, but holding off for a bowl game is stupid. If Tua is the future, then Tua should be the starter. We lose nothing by losing the bowl game. We gain everything by getting him more starting reps.

I agree with the OP. Jalen was pedestrian but I don't think this offense is what he does best.

If it’s just a bowl game I’d like to see Tua get some time with the first unit early in the game, before it has been decided. I’d really like to see how he does in this type situation. I hear what you’re saying about waiting until the spring but live game action is where it’s at.

I don't know if the staff is even convinced of this yet. We shall see.

Well since we are talking about playing new players, can we try some new O lineman or is that pointless as well haha

I have no doubt our staff will trot Hurts out there. Who knows, he might even do well in the bowl game. It will be fools gold though because as soon as you have a top ten team with the season on the line, Hurts will Hurts.

I was pleasantly surprised at our run blocking today and really confused as to why we went away from it. As a team, they averaged 5.6 YPC. Harris at about 9 YPC and Bo close to 7 YPC....they only run a combined 12 plays???

That’s it! The more we play him the more we will ultimately get burned.
We better seize the future before Tua says screw it and we’re stuck with Jalen losing to the barn for the next two years.

This is where I miss Lane...He would find a system that works for the qb skill set.

If Bama doesn't make the playoffs, I could see Ridley sitting out of the bowl game unless it's the Orange Bowl. He might want to play in Miami, probably have a lot of family at the game.

Who was the other 3 involved in the dispute? 15 I’m assuming is Harrison.

Well after what I just heard about the locker room after the game we may have broken. Joy.

IMO

If the fight was instigated by a player getting on another players arse for poor effort, selfishness, bad attitude etc., that can have a net positive effect. Not always, but it can.

However, if it was more of small group vs another small group pointing fingers...then that is when it can become really bad.

Hopefully, if what you heard from your buddy is accurate, it is the first scenario.

He wouldn’t miss much, but maybe one pass. Other than that he will be run blocking for a running Jalen who couldn’t make the read. I would be very frustrated too if I have the talent at WR..no reason to not throw a 50/50 ball all season. If Ridley is man to man coverage the ball should be in the air. Jalen won’t throw unless the person is wide arse open out of the breaks. We hardly even get YAC yards due to this. He limits our talents and it is frustrating

I don't think ridley has any real gripe. He's been targeted more than anyone on the team. Had an important drop before the half. I thought we'd shorten the rotation with the rb's, did harris ever play 2 consecurive series. 12 carries for bo and harris is unforgivable.

The lack of us using the running game is why we lost IMO just like we did against OSU. Run the ball and grind the game down. We get cute and lose. Every time.

strength conditioning is the problem.

I've been saying this for a while. Cochran was the best in the business, but the amount of soft tissue injuries we have had is indicative of bad strength and conditioning. shite happens, I get that. But in 08, 09, 10, 11, and 12, we had a remarkably low amount of season ending or long term injuries each year. We also physically dominated almost everyone in that stretch. But the past few seasons, major soft tissue injuries have been stacking up much more consistently, and we don't physically dominate any of the teams that are decent. Especially this year.

And this is despite all of the rumors that Bama's doctors and training staff have special "techniques" or that help guys get healthy faster.

If Ohio State beats Wisconsin they are getting in over us.

- Conference champ
- 2 better wins than our best win (Wisconsin, PSU) with their 3rd best win = our best (MSU vs LSau)

I'm not saying they should, but they will.

OSU's resume looks better in the Ws column, but they have TWO BLOWOUT LOSSES (OU & IOWA) vs our one 12-pt road loss to a playoff team. It hurts some that our loss was so recent tho.

Remember, last year OSU (1-L non-conf champ) got the nod over PSU (2-L conf champ) even with PSU having the head-to-head win over OSU.

If OSU beats Wisc., OSU vs Bama for the #4 spot will be a tough call for the committee. It will be highly scrutinized and debated in the media.

Jalen was throwing balls into coverage last night hence why we kept getting PI calls in our favor. He put the ball only where our WRs could get it and forced AU players to PI and if not we would have caught it.
