I don't think it matters what kind of offense you have as long as it is efficient.
We aren't efficient in big games because our QB isn't efficient in big games. Its as simple as that.
Can't disagree with that.
Also, other than Williams, would anyone venture to guess how many of this year's starting OL will get drafted when their Alabama career is over?

That's fine but we have to finish the season and let them compete at that point. We may end up in the playoff and need to figure out how to move ahead. I don't care about next year I care about now.

I agree. But that's on Saban. Dabol didn't come from a Kiffin type system. If Tua can open the passing game up more and allow teams not to stack the box then so be it. I'm a Bama fan and I'll support the starter whoever it is.

IDK, but what I do know is that line is full of 5 and 4 star talent.
If they suck then positional coaching and strength conditioning is the problem.

It's pretty simple. We need to run the offense he excels in and stop trying to be proactive style. Our team does well when we go fast and use our better backs. Maybe I'm the only one who sees it.
I don't necessarily disagree, but I still think in most places our OL isn't very good...certainly not what we came to expect in 2008-13.

Only way we get in playoff is if TCU beats OU.
No other path except Big12 losing their spot.
Btw that is highly unlikely.

Dude. It’s over. This year is over. It ended a few hours ago.

Tyler Love forever cured me of putting any stock in those rankings. But you're right about positional coaching being inadequate.

So the big question is this, let's say we end up in the playoff and we have a 50% chance btw if OSU wins. What corrections can we make on the O? I kind of started this thread because there is just no identity and we need to do what works.

This is why I've never complained that much about coordinators. Not saying that criticism of Daboll isn't warranted...but if he's back next year, then that's on Saban.

if 12 weeks of football and they havent fixed it...0% chance things change for the playoffs

That's not true, we still have at least 1 game left to play. If you want the team to get embarrassed that's on you.

We have the plays I think, we need to implement the style and move forward with it, even if just for a month. It's hard as all hell to stop a clicking RPO with our RBs.

Well, many people would say run Harris more...but are they the same folks who said Bo going down late in the Clemson game cost us the NC?
The OL is what it is. They aren't going to get any better.
First down plays need to go consistently for 5+ yards.

I'd love to see improvements, but a lot of issues we had to day have been there since the start of the season. I would like to think we get things figured out and play to our strengths. What I saw today just doesn't give me much hope.

Let's think about this.
Sec champ
ACC champ
Big 12
Wisconsin loses, and OSU has two bad losses. It's between Bama and OSU. If Okie loses we are for sure in.

If Ohio State beats Wisconsin they are getting in over us.
- Conference champ
- 2 better wins than our best win (Wisconsin, PSU) with their 3rd best win = our best (MSU vs LSau)
I'm not saying they should, but they will.

I guess we'll see I kind of thought we would jump them.

If 2 teams with 2 loses get in over us that will hurt.

Realize Hurts is a very limited QB and simplify everything. Run more, primarily with Harris. Use Josh Jacobs in relief. Have designed passes where Hurts has one read, if it's not there he tucks and runs or throws it away. Tell Hurts that if he holds the ball for more than 5 seconds, he needs to throw it away or run up field.
I don't think they can fix the offensive line or the QB play. Certainly not in a month. Dumbing it down like this might help some, but I doubt it will be enough.
