Holy Crap. This is incredible pandering. She now has a commercial with her dog “Bear.” $1000 says that’s not really her dog or it’s not really named Bear. She has always been a huge Auburn fan. Next thing you know her cat will be named Nick.

Yes, I know. That's why I wanted to keep my options open.
No offense, but that makes no sense at all.
By not voting in either initial primary you don't keep your options open, you do the exact opposite and leave yourself with no option at all until the general election.

"In the event that a voter does not participate in the primary the voter would make their party selection for the first time during the primary run-off held on September 26th."
That's straight from the secretary of state's website. By not voting in the primary, I'm able to vote in one of the run-offs, and I'm able to choose which one.

Her cat is named Shug
Her parrot is Gene (Bartow)
Gotta keep all the fanbases happy.

The dog is not named after Paul Bryant.
Only a serious Bama homer hears the word bear and assumes it comes from coach Bryant.

My apologies, it’s named after Gene Hackman’s dog from the movie Crimson Tide....
Ivey is such a pandering farce anyway that it leave little benefit of the doubt even if the dog is named after something else. She also knows damn well what she’s doing by using the dog’s name in the commercial.
Of course it’s be great to ask her what the truth is on this and many other matters if she ever decided to get out of her protective bubble.

Walt says a lot of the right things and could possibly make a good governor.
I won’t vote for him however.
Doug Jones reinforced my view of the Walts party of affiliation with his comments and vote on the Cavanagh confirmation. In a meet and greet last spring he lied to me and the whole group when he stated he would make independent decisions based on what is best for all of us. What a lying POS he was who promptly toed the party line on his first big vote.
I’m in no hurry to turn over our country or state to people that think like that. I also wouldn’t want my vote to be construed in anyway as an endorsement of the Dems.

Actually, his first big vote was a republican led banking deregulation bill that he voted yes for.
He obviously holds democratic values, or he would have ran as an republican. Expecting him to exclusively vote republican is insane, especially considering that it was black women who got him elected in the first place. So far he has shown that he can be moderate, and I expect him to have plenty of oppurtunities to continue that. But being a moderate means you're gonna vote both ways, and just because he didn't vote with republicans on this vote doesn't mean that he is purely locked into his party's interest.

You don't have to worry about this state being turned over to people like Walt and Jones. Republicans will likely hold onto a veto-proof majority in both state houses, so even if Walt wins, little of what he advocates will make it through the state legislature.

So much logic!
Also take note of how black women/black people haven't went throwing him off the deep end for voting both ways...

Walt and Jones both seemed to be likable people in the very limited time I've been around them. I expected Jones to vote against Kav, but was holding out hope his decision would be more factually based, rather than with speculation or supposition, or toeing the company line as I asserted above.
I just follow politics and try to avoid participation. I'd much rather listen to a couple of knowledgable people talking about politics than participate in the discussion.
I see Maddox losing in a good race and I'd predict Jones to lose by a larger margin if the election were held anytime soon.
I'm biased, of course, since so many of Trump's decisions and policies have improved my financial position.

Only a commie would vote for Kay over the mayor of God's Country.

Off topic, but since this is our default political thread:
Nick Saban endorses Democratic Senator Joe Manchin.

Dude, Ivy literally said during the Roy Moore fiasco that she believed the women accusers but still was going to vote for Moore because "we can't have a dem in that office."
If that's not putting party before everything then what is?

Mitch McConnell explicitly stated that his job, and the job of his party in congress was to oppose Obama in every way, not to actually govern. Pelosi said that her job was to elect more Democrats.
Both parties are guilty of putting themselves before country, though it is very clear that the Republicans are currently the most common perpetrators of this, which is hilariously sad because they literally control everything.

I can't imagine that mentality no matter if it's a Republican or Democrat saying it. Its a shame that nobody has been able to challenge her on that.

It's disgusting to me when a person is so close-minded that they cannot mark the other side of the ballot on occasion.
