I am guessing you don't wear Lacosse because you aren't an Aligator or Polo shirts because you don't play polo?

This is not a good analogy. A better one would be putting the Heisman logo on basketball jerseys. That would be equally as stupid as the Jumpman logo on football jerseys.

Can’t imagine how much money the school lost through the glory years on that idiotic bill battle Nike deal?

They have to have the money, they're poor.

Nike is a track logo. Why are they on football jerseys?

Bryant supported Russell when other top schools and pro teams were using larger national brands. The profits from cheap foreign labor savings went right into Nike's and Phil Knight and other stock holders pockets. I guess this is the American way, but I have never bought Nike for this reason. The global economy did not reduce consumer prices it just increased profits. Tariffs will not raise cost much for consumers. The only problem is it goes into the government coffers for them to squander.

There are still bama starter jackets for sale. Some guy has a website just for vintage bama gear.

Not a similar analogy to mine.
The Jumpman logo is an image of a basketball player dunking a basketball which is being used on a football jersey. The Nike swoosh is not an image of a track athlete that’s being used on a football jersey.

We reupped with them not long ago. It was actually a renegotiation/extension that gave us a much more favorable deal from my understanding. We’ll be a Nike school for the foreseeable future.

What's wild is that Penn State is going to Adidas starting next year. They were one of the earliest Nike schools. They started with using Nike cleats exclusively in 1983 and went in on full apparel with them in 1993.
It looks like Adidas is trying to get aggressive and go bigger now that Nike losing marketshare and has earnings decline nearly 20% over the last few years.

I don't like it either, but high school kids love it. It would probably help with NIL deals, too.
Means the kids are getting free Jordans too
