SIAP but noticed some familiar names in the portal:

LSU - Siaki Ika (2019 class - same as Sopsher)
Auburn - Coynis Miller (2018 class - I was thinking same as the above 2)
Tennessee - Kivon Bennett (I knew he got in some trouble at UT)
Nigel Knott on the move again from East Carolina (we had already heard about Shavers leaving Miss St)

A lot of talk up here in Nashville that Henry To'o To'o is going to transfer.

We will take To’o To’o. Can you imagine our defense next year?

I think Saban will probably go for a qb for depth

This will be interesting to watch play out. Isn't he the one people are speculating is the primary cause of Tennessee's current NCAA troubles?

If Bama could get Henry and Gilbert, that would be huge.

There's risk the NCAA could rule Henry and Gilbert ineligible and vacate all games they played in. And it appears Bama has no signing and counter limit spots available to take any transfers.

Some guys will be too good to pass up if they’re available and don’t have too much other baggage. Dax Hill, the UT MLB, Gilbert, Bigsby, and probably others will fall into that category.

I’d love for us to get a guy like Jake Bentley as insurance at QB though. Idk if that’s the kind of role he’s interested in, but just somebody who can be semi competent if needed would be great.

Arik Gilbert's recruitment by LSU is probably one of the dirtiest in recent history. Not just because of the money than exchanged hands either. Coaches all feel the pressure to win, and he's a good football player, but it really would not surprise me if even Kirby refused to give that kid the time of day at this point.

Generally speaking, it's probably better to focus on developing the guys who chose to sign with Bama and compete for starting positions than to take transfers who didn't and later chose to enter the portal. We've only taken two Juco transfers (Williams & Jackson) and two grad transfers (Dickerson & Tucker) in the last two years.

Would having our own players transfer out not open up spots to take transfers? Or could those only count for the next year?

I thought it was the Mims kid that had Tennessee under the NCAA microscope.

From what i understand, the players who transfer out during the spring have their spots open in the fall.

Please read this understanding that i am usually confused and often wrong.

I don't think we need a LB... Christian Harris is elite and dont forget about Demouy Kennedy. 5 star kid who should shine

Departures only open up 85 total counters limit spots. All incoming transfers count toward the annual 25 signings and 25 initial counters limits, as well as the 85 total counters limit when they enroll, just like incoming HS recruits. These two posts explain Bama's "numbers" situation:

'21 Recruiting Class | '21 Projected Roster/Depth

Maybe. I really don't know. I've just seen To'oto'o mentioned a few times as a potential source of the violations. Realistically if they were cheating to sign one kid they were cheating to sign a dozen others though, so it's probably both.

Shavers was Bama's fall back plan after Justyn Ross signed with Clemson.

Different class. Shavers was in the 17 class, Ross was in the 18 class.

I believe Seth Williams was the fall back option for Ross in the 18 class. Unfortunately, Auburn talked him into signing early. Ross waited until NSD to sign and Bama was out of options.

Thanks for that information. I'm having some problems with remembering things in several different threads today.
I remember being disappointed when Ross signed with Clemson.

Who will play D. Moses position next year? Hopefully they'll be an upgrade.
