Maybe so. But in that case, he's still wrong.

I'm reminded of something I heard a weatherman say many years ago. He'd listed the chances of rain on a given day as 10%, and it rained cats and dogs for the full 24 hours.

A viewer emailed him to complain, and he said something like "We predict the weather based on various computer models. All the data indicated there was a 10% chance of rain. Just because it rained doesn't mean the data was wrong, or that our prediction was wrong ... this was just that one time in 10 it rained."

I have zero sources or inside information. I think CrimsonBoz has one or more, and in this case they were wrong or mistaken. It happens. Heck, in my job I've shared company-related news based on something our CEO said, and then later he changed his mind or clarified his comments and I realized what I'd shared was incorrect. And that's stuff coming straight from the horse's mouth.

Even if CrimsonBoz doesn't have any sources at all, though, I don't get the animosity toward him by some. What difference can it make to folks?

dislike having the board periodically turned into an unreadable chicken little hell hole for no reason other than some weirdo trying to be an internet bigshot. If he would just fricking say I heard or read this rumor and leave it at that I would have no problem, but he doesn't do that. He was categorically saying yesterday that tua had his knee scoped and would be out 3 weeks. Next day Nick saban says, "what the frick are you talking about? Tuas practicing like normal today, he's fine just like I literally said on saturday"

Guessing these people used his info to act like they're plugged into the program to their friends and family, and now they look wrong to them.

People get stuff wrong all the time. It's also possible Boz is right and Saban is just doing some gamesmanship to not give Tennessee the assistance in knowing they have to only prepare for Hurts at QB. The uncertainty makes them prepare for both.

But as always, take everythign you read on the internet with a grain of salt. Anyone can claim they have inside info on here. That's not a knock on Boz and more times than not his info is pretty good. But I still don't know him from Adam's house cat, so don't put much stock in what he has to say. Y'all are all just screen names in my computer to me.

I think in real life, he's probably a good dude. But, he comes across as kind of a dick, in writing. He seems to have a weird need to be known as an insider and gets pissy and threatens to take his ball and go home any time he's called out.

That said, I believe he has sources. I believe he believes what he tells us. I also believe he's wrong more often than he'll admit or anyone here seems to notice.

All in all, it doesn't matter, and I probably wouldn't have even responded to this thread if he hadn't made jabs at Drew DeArmond, and then turned out to be the one who is wrong (again).

The best college QB in the country left Saturday's game in the third quarter with a knee injury. Did you really expect this board to be anything OTHER than "an unreadable chicken little hell hole" this week?

His backup is 26-2 as a starter, so it really shouldn't be. But I've never expected much rationality from Bama fans. We're an odd bunch.

honestly, the idiotic arguments about Boz and trying to convince people whether or not to believe him is far worse IMO. People just reading and deciding how much they want to believe that and then moving on seems so easy to me.

probably not if people just listened to what Saban said literally one day before

When Saban is discussing injuries, no one should listen to him. I understand why he does it, but don't blame folks for not trusting it.

Here's the thing, though ... Saban uses the media much as our military has during wartime. He may not outright lie, but he's not above being vague or misleading, especially when it comes to uncertain situations.

He also uses the media to get messages across to players (and sometimes to fans). That doesn't mean he's sincere in what he says. His comments may be intended to motivate, rather than inform.

I bet no one knew that Shy Carter has been playing with a broken hand.
quote:

Carter showed reporters the scar on his right hand, which is usually consistent with a plate being inserted, on Monday.

“My hand, it’s doing all right," he said. "It’s good. I can’t really say anything. That’s about it. It’s good. But I go out about it in practice with it wrapped. In the game, I have it wrapped but I just have my fingers out in the game.”

Yea, Boz could turn out to be right (and I don't care if he's right or wrong), Saban has Tua throw all week in the media viewing period and sits him against Tennessee.

So is Tua's leg amputated yet, or what?

I don't have any particular animus toward the guy. If he's right, he's right. If he's wrong, he's wrong.

Probably what gets under some people's skin is a perceived inability to just say "Hey, I was wrong" instead of trying to save face.

The only thing I would find fault with is this comment toward a professional who was apparently right:

"I’m not going to read all of it but Drew is a friend of mine and I wouldn’t say anything bad about him. I’ll leave it there."

Again, this was an attempt to just save face rather than to admit he could be wrong. Not going to say anything bad about the guy? Seriously? Sorry, but that was just childish on his part.

I didn’t say he would be out 3 weeks I said he could play minimally as early as Saturday. You need to go back and re read it. I also said I was told it’s a 3-4 week turnaround. The person I spoke to doesn’t make the decision on who plays at what time.

Btw re read the entire thread as I post updates all throughout.

Tua got shot while hunting in Africa.

He's going to live though.
