How the frick do you defend a DC that has given up 84 points in the last 2 games against decent competition? How do you defend an OC that manages to score 6 points in the first half against a team that has been a notoriously slow starting team, usually digging themselves a hole in the first half? And after an open date!! Coordinators that have the best players in college football on either side of the ball? The coaching our players are receiving is criminally negligent.
I’m done with Saban and Alabama football unless and until Saban gets behind a mike and says things aren’t working like they should and we are going to make wholesale changes as soon as the season ends.
If he accepts the piss poor, undisciplined, STUPID play by the defense and the random, disjointed, ineffective play calling on offense then Mr. GOAT is part of the problem and not the solution. This team was supposed to roll through the regular season undefeated, setting up a titanic rematch with UGA in Atlanta and possibly again in the playoffs. Instead, we are 2 plays from being 7-4 and we’re still looking at a beating from the Lane Train that will complete the gang rape of this squad. If Saban can’t see how far this team has fallen, someone needs to tell him it’s time to go watch the ducks shite in his yard on Lake Burton.
One play displays the dysfunctionality of this staff in a nutshell: on the game winning 2 pt play, we come out of the LSU time out with 12 players on the field. We still have our own time out to use. Obviously there is some confusion. Do we burn our time out to discuss things and make sure we’re doing everything possible to win this play? What the frick are we saving it for? This is THE LAST PLAY, win or lose. Take the goddamn time out! Nope, just run one player off the field and hope everyone’s got their assignment. Absolutely ridiculous. And these mother frickers are making millions of dollars to frick things up like this.
I’m a dumbass middle aged armchair QB but there’s no way in hell I go to the locker room not having spent that time out for one more look at things, especially after seeing LSU’s alignment. It might not have made one bit of difference but I’ll be damned if I wouldn’t have used everything at my disposal. I would have used every bullet in the gun before they pried it from my cold, dead hands. That’s on Saban. He’s playing CEO instead of hands on coach. And with Tweedledum and Tweedledumber running the show. How do you excuse that? It’s time some beat writers and maybe some higher ups start asking some very pointed questions that Mr. Ten Million a year won’t like but that he’s earned they be asked.
Saban is owed the respect and admiration of every Alabama fan for what he has done for the program. I certainly recognize that. But you, sir, set the standard, gave us The Process. And you are failing to live up to your own standards. If he recognizes that and attempts to correct it, he should be given every opportunity to do so. But if he does not, he should be reminded of his responsibility and asked to make some tough life choices. It’s that simple. It isn’t fair to him or to the program to allow him to crash and burn before he walks away. So it’s time to make some decisions, coach. What’s it gonna be? The ball is in your court.

I echo your well written words. Saban's go to do some soul searching of himself and decide if he wants to reboot/continue or retire. He is not living up to his own words. I just am not sure he can fix his own issues of extremely spotty assistant coach hiring..............I was on an LSU board last night and they were saying the same thing as other fanbases. These are clearly not the Bama teams of the past that run you out of the stadium.

His press conferences are just word salad talking about consistency and “creating value for yourself.” He says nothing of substance and the Bama reporters don’t ask him any tough questions that hit a nerve.

Too much $$$ in college football, sports in general. Last place pays millions of $$$. No one is really hungry. At least we aren't paying Saban $3M per win like our friends in College Station. NIL and the transfer portal have killed college football. Might as well quit requiring kids to go to class and just have a paid NFL farm league. It all sux!

Cecil Hurt would have, and Saban would have listened to him.

Very well written. I'm in 100% agreement.

Just to show what the standard use to be and how mistakes were dealt with... flashback to the first time we played Brian Kelley and ND. We are up 42-14 and AJ and Barrett almost come to blows because they couldn't get the call right with a few minutes left in the game. Dang I miss these type of players...
This is leadership
We no longer play to the Built By Bama standard. There is way too many mental mistakes, penalties, and bust. There is a lack of leadership on this team. Is it a new generation of players? As calm and cool as Bryce is there's not a lot of fire in his leadership style. Has anyone seen one time this year where a player has gotten into the face of another player to hold someone accountable for a mistake?
Is it the OC and DC just collecting a paycheck? Or has Coach Saban mellowed in his old age? Or has he adjusted due to the transfer portal, NIL and the entitled players. Coach is going to have to figure it out or this will turn into the last days of Bobby Bowden at FSU.

They all grew up on video games where you can get killed and start over fresh with a reset button. There's no reset button in real life.

Phil you summed the situation up perfectly, hitting the nail on the head.
After last night, even the kool-aid drinking Bama fans realize Saban has losers coordinating our offense/defense.

I’m sorry, but you’re right. I couldn’t believe the obvious confusion on the twopoint didn’t merit use of our available timeout. WTH were they thinking…that if Bamaused theirs, LSU would call TO and change the call?
Thank goodness our losses still leave us upset, angry, frustrated, etc. Before CNS came, I’d almost gotten used to being mediocre on a good day.

I agree with changing coordinators and every assistant if that’s what is needed.
But frick this shite
Talk about the definition of a fair weather fan.
Saban is not going to fire both coordinators during the season and tell our fans he is going to make some wholesale changes.
I agree he should say things aren’t working, but I’m not going to threaten that I quit unless x and y happens.
We have been on the greatest run in the sports history. From 2008-2021, fourteen seasons that have seen football change in a 100 different ways in that time frame. It has to end eventually. Whether it already has or not we will only know with hindsight.
If it has ended, we witnessed the absolute greatest to ever do it.
The Saban era will eventually end. And the next one will undoubtedly not be as great as this one is/was.

It seems some of us cannot wait to get to this stage.

I hope it’s just frustration from the loss yesterday. I hate losing to LSU more than any other poster on this site but we are one year removed from winning the SEC. We have lost 2 games by a total of 4 points.
Tennessee is a really good team and LSU is the most improved team in the country from week 1.
It sucks, but I am not ready to go back to the 3 Miles and Shula era.

Our football team has gotten softer each year since Cochrane left. While his strength and conditioning was a little outdated, letting him go to GA was a mistake. We haven’t had that fire in the locker room since then. Like him or not, he gave the team that “make their arse quit” attitude.

If Kelly is able to lockdown the talent within the state then LSU is going to be a player for the top of the heap.
He is doing a good job at LSU and he's not taking any shite from his players in doing that job. Kirby following that same path while Nick is taking a little different approach these days. Appeasement is always a shitty path.

My serious doubts started with the Clemson raping. The program hasn’t been the same since.
