I truly hate Saban’s last three years were ruined with bad offensive coordinators. We had lazy coordinators and it trickled down to the players and they didn’t play inspired football in the offensive side of the ball. It wasn’t fun to them anymore. Furthermore it stunted Milroe’s and Bryce’s growth as quarterbacks.
Saturday was a beautiful display of offensive strategy. Sheridan had a plan and he was able to out scheme the defense. We begged pre snap motion and we final got it and it opened the field up for our quarterback. The route trees were perfect. No receivers running into each other. Pulling guards who were coming downhill with a vengeance. We haven’t seen our offense as excited as they were Saturday night since Sarkisian.
I’m looking forward to more growth from our offense and I’m so ready to fake qb power and hit someone over the top for a touchdown. ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!

Dunking on the parade but BoB’s SEC championship game against UGA was better called than Sheridan’s this year by a large margin
The second half playcalling was a major head scratcher because we didn’t adjust in response to Georgia’s adjustments. Sheridan clearly has some room to grow in that field but he doesn’t have a slew of experience so it makes sense
I wouldn’t put Sheridan anywhere near the same sentence as Sarkisian either. That’s a whole different level of playcalling

I think that's fair. Once the offensive script ended, so did the offensive success it seemed like. And that offensive script is drawn up by DeBoer just as much as Sheridan.
Also consider that the winning TD pass wasn't a designed pass to Ryan Williams. Jalen Milroe was the one who decided to throw that ball.
Suffice it to say, I'm not sold on Sheridan just yet. Glad we have DeBoer on staff, and he's an excellent offensive coach, but Sheridan.. idk and idk if it really matters. With DeBoer as HC our offense will probably always be in good shape.

To me it seems like Sheridan either calls it perfectly or in the bathroom taking a shite and calling plays. No in between

He forgot the magic trick. Flip the hat backwards. Always worked for BOB when we actually had offense.

We are so freaking spoiled.
We just put up over 550 yards of offense and 41 points on a team that, up until that point, hadn't allowed a touchdown all season. Was the game perfect? No. Georgia adjusted, got their hits in, and almost won the game because they are a great football team. Did we almost blow a huge lead? Yes. It would have been awful if in some alternate reality we would have lost that game. However, we didn't. As soon as Georgia took the lead our big time players made a big time play and we got the lead back in just one play. The defense (a true freshman to boot) then stepped up and made a huge play to ice the football game.
There are obvious issues that need to be fixed, but I don't think offense is one of them. Nick Sheridan called a great game against a defense that heretofore had been playing elite level football.

While I was disappointed to see Jam and Justice come up short in 2 pretty crucial short yardage situations, I wish we would have featured them more between the tackles in the second half instead of continuing to run to the edge, where uga had clearly adjusted to allocate more resources to stop that. Yes, uga made great adjustments, I just don’t understand why we didn’t try to do anything to counter that with adjustments of our own.

Typical BoB called series. 1st down bubble screen for a loss of 2. 2nd down run up the middle for no gain. 3rd and long pray for a typical Bryce miracle play. The best our offense ever looked under BoB was when were forced to go hurry-up, no huddle during a 2-minute drill or if Bryce was forced to go off-script and improvise.

It feels like Milroe is running more although his rushing attempts per game is at 13.0 whereas last year it was 12.3. His passing attempts per game is 21, same as last year.
One big difference is that Alabama allowed 3.5 sacks per game and this year it's 1.5.
So essentially Milroe is running/throwing just as much as he was last year but he's much, much more efficient with it.
The team is averaging 63.5 plays per game this year compared to 63.2 last year.

I thought BOB was okay but checked out for some reason in 2022. It’s hard to say with Rees because I thought the offense had some serious talent deficiencies last year - wayward snaps, mediocre backs, and a limited QB at that time.
Milroe looks much better now than at any point last year, but in Rees’s defense Milroe did improve over the course of last season. So it may not be anyone’s fault as much as it just took awhile for it all to come together for Jalen.

Biggest complaint is he tried to get way too cute when we had a big lead. Correct me if I am wrong, but we attempted to run 3 trick plays, I think the only one got a few yards. Others got negative yards. I kind of wish that we would have tried to just impose our will and smash their mouths after we went up 4 scores, but I don't claim to know more than the coaches, so it was probably more complicated than that.

I would like to play devils advocate on these points. They tried those trick plays because they wanted to see if they would work or not against a stout defense up big.
Now they know, that good teams in the SEC and CFP are less likely to get fooled. Good lesson learned.
2nd half . to me , they didn't change anything when UGA adjusted was maybe they didnt want to show more than they needed to.
It almost cost them, but who would have thought that UGA would convert every 4th down. Just one gone our way would have sealed it.
Such a great win when the team and coaches have to see "survived" in the headlines. They got the dub and plenty of lessons to be learned in the process.

I didn't have an issue with the trick plays. To me it indicated that they knew the game was still in the balance and they were going for the jugular. That safety made a great play on the double pass. He was the only Georgia defender within 15 yards and we had our entire line making their way out there. My only real gripe with the play at all is that it was drawn up for Bernard who probably lacks the top end speed to house that. Eman, Williams, Law, or even Adams I think would've been better targets on that design.

We got way too conservative in that second half. Something to learn for the coaching staff playing against teams of the caliber of Georgia. I don't think they'll do that again and we will be more aggressive in another one of these situations. But, we did put up some great yards and points against a team that hadn't given up a td all season.

against a team like Georgia who is very disciplined and well coached they are much less likely to work. I get that they were on their heels at that point, but the margin of error is high on gimmick plays, and when they don't work, they kind of kill momentum. Of course, had they been successful, I would be calling them genius.

Proctor got held by one of the defenders and couldn't make it over to carry out his block, otherwise the play would have likely worked.
