Still waiting on any kind of evidence to support this. The hate for Milroe is frickin weird, guys. Move on.

One day we might get a little firsthand insight into what the program was like behind the scenes from 23-24, but probably not much unless someone gets a sweet book deal. I do think it's a bit naive to believe nothing unusual was happening though.

Modern players dont write books, they go on podcasts. It will happen one day. Specifically i want to know about the South Florida game where Ty Simpson had to come in as the third QB. WTF was that? What went into the decision to play Buchner and what did the coaches think after it didnt work?

How would I know? I wasn't in the locker room. Neither were you. All I know is that on the field Milroe never improved in any meaningful way during his entire time here. There never seemed to be even a suggestion of a QB change in 2024 at any point against UTk or OU even though we still had a shot at the playoffs and his play in those games was beyond atrocious. Mediocre QBs have managed to hold onto their jobs for 2+ full seasons in the past, but rarely at programs competing for championships and I bet it has never been with a future 1st round pick sitting behind them the entire time. Then there's the matter of whatever happened after that Texas game to get him benched/suspended for a week, after which he immediately reclaimed his job. All of it taken individually can easily be explained away, but if you view all the circumstances surrounding the QB position for those 2 years there is an indication that not all was as it should be. I am simply interested to know exactly what wasn't as it should be and why.

Correct.

How was that any different than Hurts and Tua? Yes, Saban finally made the change out of desperation in the very last half of the season, but it was basically the same situation. I never heard anyone say that Hurts was a cancer, and held the locker room hostage.

Saban sent him a message by benching him. Coaches do that sometimes. Milroe was amped af for Ty when he came off the field after he led that touchdown drive to seal the game against USF. It was really not that deep. Milroe obviously responded well and eventually led us to an SEC title and a playoff birth.

So all of your "reasons" can easily be explained away, yet they actually mean something when looking at the big picture, but we just don't really know what they mean. Sounds a lot like a conspiracy theory.

Two completely different coaching staffs believed that Milroe was the better option to start and win football games in 23 and 24. They saw both Milroe and Simpson in practice every single day. It's entirely possible Ty just wasn't ready until last season. In fact if you look at his first start against FSU that's almost certainly the case.
Plus Ty had multiple opportunities to transfer if he believed he was the better QB and was getting screwed over by locker room politics or whatever. He didn't. Why would he stay if his career was being actively sabotaged by his teammates? He wouldn't. No amount of loyalty to the program is going to keep a guy from leaving a situation where he's not being given a fair opportunity.

So it's not the same at all, because Saban actually made the change. Also Tua was only Hurts' backup for just under 1 season and we didn't lose a game until the Iron Bowl that year. We had already lost 2 when DeBoer stuck with Milroe despite him being OU's defensive MVP in a de facto elimination game.

An already decided upon starting QB getting straight benched a couple of weeks into the season for things besides an arrest is extremely unusual. Then he's immediately handed his job back, plays like shite several more times going forward, never improves a single one of his weaknesses as a player, but is never again at risk of seeing the bench for nearly 2 years across 2 different coaching staffs.

What conspiracy? Thinking we probably don't have a full picture of the decision making process that
led to a first round pick sitting on the bench for a couple of years behind a starter who repeatedly shite the bed because he can't read a defense? You can believe Milroe was a better QB than Ty every day for two calendar years if you want. I just think it's naive.

Milroe continues with his continuous Jekyll and Hyde act. A terrible outing followed by a hint of promise. Who knows what his future is.

Yup, thats him. Will dominate one game, and look like a deer in the headlights the next. All mental for him.

Accidentally downvoted you. Sorry
That is a lot of waived former players. Is OL the hardest position to predict for all levels? We recruited highly rated 5 stars that never seemed to pan out in college. And the ones that did pan out in college, never really produced in NFL.

Supposedly JK Scott will be resigned with the team this week

I think under Saban we recruited a lot of OTs who were more or less just bigger, taller guards in terms of their footwork and agility. It's not a huge weakness at this level, but when you're facing an elite edge rusher in 2/3 of the games on your schedule like in the NFL they'll get isolated and exposed a lot more often. The interior linemen we've put in the NFL have mostly had a good bit of success.

Make sense. Always wondered why Bama had such tremendous success with producing NFL stars everywhere except OL

Tua gets the starting job with the Falcons...barely...and proceeds to hurt himself warming up at practice and loses the opportunity.
Really is unbelievable.
Really is unbelievable.

Panthers defense is doing absolutely nothing to help Bryce out.

Henry and Gibbs both absolutely wrecking defenses already.
