Deboar isn’t moving the needle for these kids on campus in my opinion. I’d say going into this year a lot of them didn’t have any clue who he was. Granted I don’t think he is a bad hire. I just think you’ll see a lot go. That’s why I was so high on Kiffin. He had the pride to follow Saban up, he has the big name in the south and just won 11 games in our conference with way lesser talent. He checks every box. Doesn’t make sense.

And that has my attention. Harbaugh had a contract waiting on him, and I don’t believe he has signed it yet. Good word says he is bound for the NFL, San Diego specifically.
Washington’s coach has not signed his; it’s common knowledge that he is a hot name that many in the NFL covet, and I think many could easily see him making the jump.
But Sark not signing his? That feels different.

What I dont understand is why the Team was told at their meeting that we would have a HC in place within 72 hours if they didn't already know who it was going to be ?
He may have, but they are working out a likely $50-$80 million contract. I've never been at that kind of negotiating table, but I'm guessing it takes longer than a few hours to work out.

They are dead freaking silent.

Sexton is Kirby’s agent too. The plane today from Tuscaloosa to Athens and back. I’m claiming it. Byrne has pulled it off and will shock the world.

Saban is having Tommy's name floated as a token of generosity to help him score a good gig. Bama HC short list is a great resume builder.
Does anyone know who is Rees' agent?

72 hrs is 3 days. Given an unexpected retirement, 3 days is pretty quick turnaround, considering the impact in modern college football.

Sark has the same agent and they likely knew this was the possibility. Not signing gives him all the leverage to get more money to deal with Texas boosters.

What boxes? Has he ever been to the playoffs? Has he every beaten a top 5 team? Has he ever won a conference championship?

I suspect that Saban told them to relax an wait. It would not take long and they would be taken care of.
They trust him...but by tomorrow they will be squirming.

Exactly these guys are waiting to sign. It’s either to see what they can get or to go somewhere else.

Doesn’t make sense.
We don’t know exactly what happened with Lane and boosters possibly. But he left abruptly and took a job at FAU of all places so it’s safe to say he didn’t leave on the best terms
So if the booster thing is true they might not be willing to suck it up for him

Tommy Rees (Alabama OC)
It's embarrassing he's even listed. I wouldn't think he'd be up for an Arkansas or South Carolina...much less the premier program in college football.
I mean, they could say that Charlie Manson is a candidate without any repercussions. So i wouldn't get worked up over someone doing Tommy a favor and getting his name some exposure. The guy probably has to find a new job.
