This is all just insane at this point! With today's technology I'm sure no coaches have been to Tuscaloosa and our AD hasn't been to any college campuses. I'm almost 100% certain all pre dealings have been done over zoom or some sort of highly secure means. We do not know who has been contacted, offered or fished. Only when our AD announces will I believe who our next HC is. I swear, social media is the devil and I DO NOT trust it and you shouldn't either. Hell, we may get the 2nd surprise of our lifetime as Bama fans when this is over....

I've got a Dale Sundrop bottle and a Bear Coke bottle.
What kind of commemorative soft drink will we get for Saban?

Little Debbie need to release a six decker Oatmeal Cream Pie.
I did see a tweet of Sabans statue. Folks left a coke and a cream pie.
Someone posted “Saban is going out the same way Rick Pitino went out. Coke and Cream pies.”

Honestly, this is incredibly fun. I care a lot, but only in a compartmentalized way, if that makes sense. To an extent, the unknown is more exciting than what is know, but that might just be a stubborn streak of optimism.

Been listening to the Josh pate show at the gym. He is really alluding to the fact it may be someone we a) haven’t heard of and b) don’t know. He said there were several on “the list” and the fanbase is going to want to burn it down, but they would all be great hires.

For real though, I thought to myself earlier…
Damn, we ain’t ever going to find someone who epitomize Alabama Football like Nick Saban. Then I realized….frick he is Alabama Football and that’s when it hit me.
I grew up in the Francione/Shula/Price years….That ain’t it.

I always have fun with situations like this, the decisions is up to someone else and rumors are just guys to consider. When a decision is made then you evaluate the guy at Bama. People arguing over hypotheticals and getting too worked is what kills the vibe.

Pate has been saying all kinds of things. I don’t think he knows as much as he acts like. It’s all for the viewership

My son is a sophmore in Tuscaloosa rn and I told him the same thing. I had more fun this season bc it was so chaotic in nature. After years and years of total stability and knowing the outcome before the games happened, it's exciting to embrace the unknown.
frick it

One of my favorite Nick Saban stories that I think captures the man in a single anecdote. I got it from @CoachBobStoops: Saban was coaching DBs at MSU in the middle-1980s and was in Youngstown, Ohio all the time recruiting players. During one of the trips he went to a local tavern w/Stoops's uncle to have lunch and talk football. The two got way into it, diagraming schemes and plays. While the two were locked into the FB klatch some guy walked in and robbed the place at gunpoint—fairly quietly, but flashed a gun and got the cash from the register and left. Police came and questioned everyone. But before he could talk to Saban and Stoops, the bartender said: Forget those two, they didn't look up the entire time. And it was true, neither guy knew anything about the robbery and were surprised to hear about it.

Been saying that. I wish it were Kiffin/sark but will prolly be someone the media is not spitting out . That’s the way Byrne works

That’s fair, I know a lot of people don’t like him, I kind of enjoy his stuff. I’m sure everyone has hot takes and spew them often to try to be the guy who told you first.

The only thing about Pate is he is dating a girl that worked in the football offices for years but I don’t think Greg Byrne is letting anyone know where he is leaning or talking too besides a small inner circle.
