There was even a point in the second half, I believe, that Coach’s head was gonna explode if they didn’t dump it down to Cliff.
If we can sustain this level of defense, other than the slight second half lapses last night, we can beat down anybody. That’s the key for us
ETA: seemed like that might’ve been the most well officiated game of the season

I was at the game. It wasn't packed but I wouldn't call it light. 75% full. While it wasn't loud as often as awbun, obviously, or Ky, I thought the crowd was still pretty good.

8:00 on a Tuesday. Tickets were cheap on SeatGeek. I wanted to pull the trigger but too easy to watch from home and avoid the drive back.

Yeah I watched it on TV and it looked plenty full. I agree that it wasn't loud though, but that could also be that we were beating them by so much the entire game.

A guy I work with whose sons go to MSU was saying how bad Bama fans were for not selling out Coleman. It's 15k people. It's 8pm on a Tuesday. I would have loved to take my kids, but that's hard to do. We'd get home at midnight on a school night. Do we just not do 6pm tipoffs anymore?

It was sold out though. Every home game is a sell out this year. Some fans just didn’t come

FYI - Bama vs UF is a 6 pm tip-off

quote:This is really what kills the environment in Coleman. There are hundreds upon hundreds of people with season tickets who simply don't use them and also don't bother to sell/give them to someone unless it's a top 10 weekend game. So we end up with 11-12k on a weeknight, but everyone is scattered throughout the arena, with blocks of prime seats completely empty.

Now that all the ticketing is electronic, there needs to be a mechanism to demote season ticket holders who don't use their tickets so that people who go to games can fill the best seats. I'd happily pay the extra $250/seat or whatever it is to move down but I'm stuck up in row 30 because nobody in the level above me will give up their tickets (gotta get those points for football I guess).
I personally think this (and the location of students) is a bigger issue than the raw number of people in the stands, because last year we only had 9k or so show up for the Missouri game due to inclement weather, but they encouraged everyone including students to fill in the lower seats at the u16 media timeout and it ended up being one of the better environments that season.

Yeah, but tickets will be hard to come by. If you want a full crowd you can't do 8pm tipoffs during the week unless it's a top 10 matchup. To me the issue is tipoff time, not price. At least in that order.

The problem is the ideal tipoff time for a weeknight crowd is 7:00. But because of TV all games are at 6&8
6:00 is too early for the core of our fanbase in Bham to get off work, get dressed, and drive the 45 mins to Tuscaloosa and 8:00 games end to0 late and our fans aren't getting to bed until 11:30-12

I completely agree.
