It’s not great but it’s good and compared to last year it’s massively improved.

Game 3 2 years ago the Brandon Miller squad scraped out a win 65-55 against South Alabama. They didnt even make the NIT
Let’s relax a bit fellas

You're correct.
It's practically impossible to play a full season blowing everyone out.
Much much better to be playing a little off now, rather than in the heat of the conference games in January and February

Let us melt a little bit, it's an Alabama basketball fan trademark. I still believe it's hard to match the Alabama lineup when it all comes together.

Jarin Stevenson and Aden Holloway combined: 0-10 from three points range!
That's THE BIGGEST ISSUE and they were wide open!!

Obvious growing pains for this team. Have to get the rotations and combinations right. The team has to learn how to play together.
When Mcneese made their run today everything went helter skelter; nobody knew how to stop it.
After this next stretch we will know how good we really are.

Stevenson has been a big disappointment thus far but I’m optimistic he will start to at least shoot better. I doubt he will ever be a good rebounder or defender due to him being slightly uncoordinated.

Stevenson
3G 5.3PTS
FG 40%
3PT 0-9 0%
FT 4-9 44.4%
He'll probably only do well in 1 out of 10 games.

I was at the game. I thought Stevenson looked pretty good when he was in there. His outside shot isnt falling. But he looks pretty comfortable around the rim. I dont think he was turning the ball over.
We just need better flow; need more transition buckets. And we need some more glue. Will be great to get Youngblood back. We have a roster full of PGs and Forwards.
Mo D is becoming a defensive star. Im excited to see what his role becomes as we move through the schedule.

I just love that we as Alabama basketball fans can now watch the team consistently WIN teachable moment games.

Get familiar with that. Also just wait until he can’t buy a layup.

Well even if he doesn’t find his shot…he isn’t make or break player for us, he is a luxury. He was a make or break player for Auburn last year.

Oats just has to get the rotations and the fits figured out. Is this the number 2 in the country right now? Probably not, but remember we struggled in nonconference play last year and ended up in the Final Four. It’s a long season.
I do wonder if they rethink the Mallette redshirt, especially with Youngblood being sidelined for a while. Team needs a catch and shoot sniper badly.
Seems it’s gonna go as Sears, Wrightsell, and Nelson go. If Sears and Wrightsell shoot like they did against Arkansas St., we lose last night. The freshmen are freshmen. They will have moments, but they are still learning. Stevenson is the guy who has to step up. He should have made more of a leap by now.

Yes, before Oats and early on with him we’d lose games like this.

This helped me feel a little better:
* Mcneese was 30-4 last year
* Won out of conference road games games against Uab, Vcu and Michigan all by double digits
* Went 17-1 in conference
* Returned 3 of their top 4 scorers
* added Breed and Sincere Parker from transfer portal (1 & 2 in scoring for them this year)
We got up 21 and got complacent against a team that would have walked out of Coleman with a double digit win against a lot of former Bama teams

* Purdue struggled all night with Yale and won by 8. Interestingly they were outrebounded all game until evening it up in rebounds on the final defensive rebound
Ok now I'm finished.
