Somebody in the discord said this and I think it’s the most plausible explanation.
There was a play in the first half where Mark fell down, got hurt, and was slow to get up…meanwhile his guy made a 3 on the other end because he didn’t get back.
Oats got mad about Mark not getting back and Mark got pissed off about it saying he was hurt

Seems like that could have boiled over to the halftime locker room and Oats/Sears might have had some words. If that’s the case, I stand by the head coach and am glad he stood his ground.

I would like to see crisp perimeter passing, which will eventually get the ball to someone who is open. We dribble too much then try and find a perimeter shooter. A lot of our turnovers come from being in the lane and trying to find someone open on the perimeter. And seldom does anyone use a bounce pass which is harder to intercept. I coached a pee wee team once so you hard core corches come at me. And dont get me started on driving the line from all angles and jumping in the air to make a pass. Arent players taught to never leave your feet on O unless you are going to shoot. I think fundamentals in all levels of BB are not being taught. Such as the bank shot from certain angles.

It's a little different with this level of athlete and the little dribblers team at the YMCA.
Pretty sure we still have the top offense in the country. I'm gonna stick with Oats. But please send your resume to Bryne if you really think you know better than Nate.

Me too. A D1 assistant coached my son’s team. He had the boys fundamentally sound. Unfortunately, the coaches son was our only player who could score. So after an auspicious 0-4-1 start, coach had to go to the day job and handed me the reins.
First practice I asked the kids if they liked how things were going or if they would rather win. After the obvious response, they embraced the new offensive plan…
My son or our Eagle Scout would throw in to the coaches son. The thrower would then sprint to the division line, join the other, and form a double screen for the coaches kid. Coach’s kid was instructed after passing the double screen to shoot the three as soon as he got his feet under him and was squared to the basket…every possession.
Coaches kid averaged 38 ppg and we won 4 in a row. Yay.
in the tournament, he was assessed with two WTF charging calls. Late in the game were still leading the best and most talented team but he forgot the instructions NOT to play defense and fouled out ??.
We couldn’t hang on without him. CSB.

I told you my experience but my comments were based on observations that lead to a lot of TO's. Please tell me I am wrong with Bama being in double digit TO's most game. And please tell me the bank shot is unheard of in today's game. Not just the Bama game.

Yeah man, we all practiced the Tim Duncan middy bankshot in our parent's driveway back in the late 90s. You want our guys taking that shot in the game? Not gonna happen under Oats. Maybe we can find another coach who can also lead us to unprecedented program success but still incorporate the middy bank shot. Maybe you are that guy.

Per minutes played, the award should be named the Dioubate Award.

Want to see Reid and Youngblood win a couple of those too.
I expect to see really good energy next game.

There is a chance the team comes out angry on Wednesday. Let’s give Mark a chance

Sears had a miserable game against Illinois then went on a tear of several great games. I suspect he will play much better in Starkville this week.

You are going to lose your mind when you hear some interviews with athletes that you are actively supporting for these universities.
