There are lots of cases of teams drafting a QB while having a good QB with lots of tread left. It's a solid strategy to keep you successful..

Great franchises draft ahead of needs. Steelers are historically great franchise but they bumbled the Big Ben transition and are stuck in that fringe playoff team purgatory.
