Different situations.

At the end of the game, Bo had one job above all others and he didn't do it. That's really, really bad.

I wouldn't bench him, he's probably the best pounder we've got but IMO until he gets things squared away his role should be reduced to those situations where smash is needed - which appears to have already happened based on how many touches the freshman are getting.

USC fans will tell you. Screens/Jet Sweeps are Kiffin's MO. They are awful.

See my other thread. Jet sweeps set up some highly explosive plays....Hurts' long pass to Ridley, Harris's long run, and others. All plays where we brought the WR in the jet sweep motion. We didn't run a jet sweep the whole game after Ridley's 2nd quarter TD off the jet sweep...but we had some hellacious plays off the fake.

You don't get one without the other.

Depends. Do we have better options at QB? So far, we have multiple quality options at RB.

""They've got pretty good speed on defense and they trapped us down pretty good on the edges," Saban said. "We came back and ran the ball inside off of some of the same motions and the same formations. That's what you folks don't sometimes get the grasp of on the jet sweep. Now you're handing the ball and running a counter the other way and they're all running out there because you ran the play in the first half, [and]now you bust them on this play."

Exactly, it's a chess game guys. We run Speed sweeps, end around, and screens. Then next quarter runs a trap to the house or some inside blast. Sometimes we throw short inside stuff and run the same play with a hitch or takeoff. Kiffin is damn good at setting people up for the fall. Once Hurts gets some more experience we will be fine.

Agree 100%. Kiffin sets up plays. He doesn't just call plays. I am sure he wants all the plays to work but there is an alterior motive to what he does early in ball games. You want to know how our receivers get so open on certain plays, it's because that play was set up by plays earlier in the ballgame.

Been saying it for two days. Some fans don't get it. Just listened to a fan call to Finebaum...ok, my first mistake...going off on Kiffin's east West play calling. No doubt completely unaware of the faked jet sweep on the play Harris took to the house.

Also lamenting that a QB can't take the punishment of running as much as Hurts does. As if Tebow never played in the SEC.

Kiffin offense is a big play offense. In games we don't hit the big plays our offense struggles to score ala Tennessee last year.

Maybe...but we've got a RB getting 9 yards a carry through 3 games.

Yep. That means we should probably feed that young man the ball more than we have. I ain't gonna bitch though. Love me some Kiffin.
