What are your thoughts on this stat?

quote:

Jalen Hurts was 4-of-10 passing the ball past the line of scrimmage in the first half, 12-of- 13 when passing at or behind the line of scrimmage. Those 12 completions produced 17 yards.

I think our offensive woes can be placed at many peoples feet.

I still say it starts with Cristobal...and goes from there.

It also baffles me that with all these top recruits our best plays on offense are when a true freshman QB scrambles.

We can not establish a running game.
We can not establish a short passing game.
We can not consistently threaten a team down the field.

Mind boggling.

The offense hums when Kiffin gets away from the east-west shite. Those sweeps were killing me in the first half. 3 in a row then a damn wr reverse pass. Jesus.

And at any point does anyone feel like we can line up and get 3 yards on 3rd and 3?

Hell no.

Stats can be misleading.

I have more doubt about passes between the line of scrimmage and 30 yards down field than I do rushing.

There are plenty of concerns with this offense. A ineffective rushing game is just 1.

What you mention is also still a concern.

Here will be a great time to just line up and run the ball with less than 3 minutes left.

Hope they prove me wrong.

ETA: Glad they made me eat my words.

But I still am not confident in our running game.

My thoughts are I want to shove a jet sweep up Kiffin's arse!

No homo.

The Problem with kiffin is he always wants to show the opponents DC up.
He has no regard for down and distance or
The opposing teams offense.(high scoring)-clock management at end of halfs.
He killed the running games momentum multiple times in the game.
Damion Harris was missing until almost the final possession of the game.
Bo or Harris cant get in a grove because kiffin wont run back to back plays.Even if there a 7 yard gain on first down

I feel like Ridley, Stewart, and Howard are as good as they get. Just let Hurts play QB. So shitty to watch reverses and bubble screens the first half.

If we had a QB like Kelly no one would get close.

The slow starts are because of the sweeps and screens which result in negative plays but wear out the linebackers and affect their eyes and positioning. That's why we gash teams up the gut in the 2nd half every game.

We just need to execute better. 8 yard losses on 1st down shouldn't be the norm.

Remove the bad play calls that result in negative yards on first down. Stop the false starts. Throw the ball past the line of scrimmage.

Yall are crazy.

The team was running the ball down their throat... Kiff refused to run the ball. The OL was getting a huge push the entire game.

For a first time start on the road in SEC country Hurts played balls out.

Stewart getting hurt early was HUGE. Best believe having him and Ridley on opposite sides was a big part of the game plan.

Dieter sucks ! No way he is better than Foster. Dieter has bricks for hands, and he can. not. block.

Kiffin fell into the nussmeir (nussy) syndrome where he wasn't watching the game he was too lost in his playbook to see what was working.

PENALTIES !! Who is going to have success when its 2nd and 15-20 every other possession ? Penalties KILLING this team.

No discipline. Look at that convoy of Bama players celebrating before Allen could score, and a defender damn near tracks Allen down through 5-6 defenders ??

Sloppy. Sloppy everywhere. Kiffin has been amazing, but this was the worst called game since the Nussy era.

Scarbrough needs to be moved to HBack like last week ! Immediately !

Offense can and will run the ball if Kiff will let them. That will open up the play action, and the passes down field.

Watching most OCs in today's game drive me nuts. I often question how many of them actually understand the basics of offense. On 3rd and less than 1 and we are in a pistol/shotgun look? Do they understand that your RB is standing at a dead stop when they get the ball and takes too long

after

waiting

for

the

QB

to

get

the

snap

and

hand

it

to

them?

Get under center, have your OL put their hand in the dirt and knock people off the line of scrimmage.

The Ohio St. Game had worst play calling then this game.

Also, I don't think Bob Foster is healthy yet.

I can't disagree with much of that assessment tonight.

I'm getting the feeling that Foster may be one of those "never was" kind of kid whether due to injury or other factors. Just seems like too many other players are getting reps in front of him for him to ever materialize.
