Few things:

You have to go way back to find another school even remotely close to having a single year as bad as one of ours. UGA had an 84% year 4 years ago and not even close since. We are frankly abysmal and there is a problem Incase you didn’t already know. Something else to note, most other teams use a specialist to hold for the kicker, someone who is practicing with them all the time. Obviously take pap out of this as he was trash from day 1.

So circa October 2006 who among you would have guessed that Leigh Tiffin would be the best kicker Alabama would have for the next 13 years?

Maybe BDS is like Heinz Field in Pittsburgh. Those damn swirling winds
Jk. I have no freaking idea why we are as bad as we are at FGs. I will say some individual numbers can be skewed bc when we have had 2 kickers , one has tried all the long attempts but out of all the kickers since I can remember going back to late 70s, I can’t remember one that the ball comes off consistently as bad as Bul. His XPs barely squeak in also and this is coming from a teacher / coach who HATES to talk negative about a kid. Except maybe in the basketball thread sometimes

Shelley by himself was 75% I gave the better number if you will.

Cade Foster and hold onto something was 22% in 2011 and 44% in 2012.

There has to be a human on campus or this website that can kick 80% has to be.

Didn't Alabama miss more XPs last year than the entire rest of the conference combined?

Yeah, he came back from a game that would've probably destroyed the psyche of most kickers to be a great kicker his senior year. Weird though; as great as he was at FG that year (30/35), he missed 4 extra points...

Overall, I thought Griffith was our best kicker, especially considering he kicked most of his career with a stress fracture in his back. I think Reichard could be the one to break our streak of bad kicking luck, as long as this injury doesn't prove to be chronic...

That chart could also be titled: "worst kickers in SEC history." If the NCAA moves extra points back like in the NFL we are screwed.

I think part of this stems from the holder not being a special teams member. Quite a few former kickers agree with that as well.

Well, you're supposed to be the "insider", right? Who is it?

The kicking game is just baffling to me. Wasn't Griffith the #1 kicker prospect in his class? So it's not like we haven't had "talented" kickers. It's shocking that we haven't brought a consultant like a Morten Andersen or an Adam Vinatieri in to work with these guys.

You are INCORRECT!!! If they move it back like the NFL, we will just go for 2 every time. At this stage, Why Not????

If memory serves Cade Foster was ranked pretty highly as well.

The problem with the kickers is Saban. He needs to leave them alone. He gets in their heads and scares the shite out of them.

I think it's the holders more than the kickers

Griffith was good at piling on when Bama was winning big.

Though...I’ll give him credit for being good in the natty.
