I love my job sometimes. A co-worker and I had to go out to campus this morning to troubleshoot a lighting system. I thought it was the one we commissioned in the Bryant Conference Center, but nope, it was in the football facility. It was located right down from most of the coaches offices so we had to be let in by a keypad passcode.

All I can say is that it is pretty freaking nice in there. We got the problem figured out and left and the UA electrician called us on the radio to tell us we just missed Saban. He said he figured I would have wet my pants since I was already like a kid in a candy store.

There is a general public area at the top of the stairs where you can see all the championship (SEC & NC) and Ingram's Heisman.

They did a great job on upgrades and it's very nice.

Got some good pics of some stuff though.

I agree.

Passed Brian Vogler on the way out. He's a pretty big guy. Had a boot on his right foot though.

Everyone knows about the Bryant Museum but not everyone knows about the 2nd floor on Mal Moore. Highly recommend checking it out for anyone who hasn't.

This x1000

If anyone is wondering, you just go in the front door and you can walk up and they have the whole section where the general public can look. They of course have it roped off where you cannot go at the end. Then the coaches offices are to the right at the top of the stairs but you have to have a keypad passcode to get in there. There must have been some NFL scouts in the building too because I saw a couple guys pass wearing NFL gear from different teams.

I was really impressed with the entire setup. I wish we could have seen more of it, but we were only there to look at the lighting system and I didn't want to get the electrician in trouble. That's one thing I like about my job is being able to get out there from time to time and see the inner workings of the buildings.

I worked on campus when I was a student (delivering copy paper for University Printing) so I got to see a lot back then, so it's nice being able to still have the opportunity to get out there other than a gameday.

I think the Mal Moore building is a lot better than the Bryant Musuem. You sometimes get to see the coaches or players. We've been there several times. We have met Chris Samuels, Vinnie Sunseri, Kirby Smart, Scott Cochran, and got to shake hands with the man, Nick Saban.

And NYCAub, those are pictures of the programs and scores of every bowl game Alabama has played in. Here's a link to pictures of Alabama bowl game covers, tickets, etc. LINK

The only coach we saw today was Burns, and ran into Joe Pannunzio. Missed Saban by 2 minutes but that's alright.

The electrician told us a couple weeks ago that he was in Saban's office changing a ballast in the bathroom because they said he would be out for a little while. He said he was about to be finished up and Saban poked his head in and said he wasn't going to rush him but asked if he could hand him his chewing tobacco off the side of the sink.

This wall is a great recruiting tool. Having each name up there really helps put it in perspective.

It also helps that at the opposite end of this room sits 3 crystal footballs.

So, general public is allowed in here? My family and I just took a trip during the BYE week and wasn't told a thing about it. Stayed at The Capstone, asked the guy at the front desk and was told only thing we could see was the Bryant Museum. We walked around the Stadium, Denny Chimes, ect. It was only my second time there and my six year olds first. Would've been a great thing to check out.

It's like our basketball facilities, only football. Football is my favorite sport and it's not even close. Wanna trade?

Yeah, during normal working hours. I sometimes will go check it out on my way to Coleman for a bball game and I'm always surprised there aren't more people up there.

Is it open to the public on game day? This Saturday being an early afternoon kickoff, would it be open before or after the game?
