You guys don't like Bolden because you're racist. Wasn't too long ago we had the honkey badger.

It's the same thing every year with fans. And fans of every team. They wanna see "the next big thing" on the field, NOW! Well, nobody appreciates talent more than Nick Saban, but if I have heard him use the words "consistency" and "maturity" once, I have heard them a thousand times.

You don't play a significant role on the Alabama team unless he can trust you to do your job at a high level every play, not just on splash occasions in a practice. I am no different from the rest of you -- I saw what #17 is capable of on a football field. But what is he doing EVERY DAY out there, in the classroom and in meetings etc? Does he know his assignments? Can he block consistently? I know very few of you want to read this, but those answers will determine his playing time, not how big and fast and how good his hands are.

Just pathetic that fans wanna write off others who have paid the price in favor of a guy we've never seen in a college game.

I don't know about that.

He is just a lunch pail type of guy. You know the scrappy guy who is always providing leadership and he knows the playbook very well.

Large, white and have nice nails. He does a pretty good job of trimming his nails for a dude. I thought he had a french manicure.

First one in, last one to leave kinda guy. Real gym rat. Sneaky athleticism. Kinda guy you’d want your daughter to date.

I completely agree. There’s more to football than catching a ball and running. The reason Najee is going to be such a great pro is because he does all the little things that a great teammate needs to do.

A lot of those throws that end up going 45-50 yards to the end zone are because the RB picked up a LB blitz package and saved the QB. Or the RB ran a convincing route and drew a safety down or forced the defense to react etc…

Metchie isn’t the best “get open and catch the ball” receiver, but he’s probably the best fundamental receiver in the game. He blocks well, and he does his job. He has experience to tell the young guys what to do in certain situations because he’s been there.

Metchie is definitely under rated but I still think its a close argument to say Metchie isn't even the best WR in the SEC.

Treylon Burks is unbelievable.

“Start Coker over Sims”
“Start Derrick Henry as a true freshman”
“Dont fire Lane Kiffin before the NCG”
“Put Damien Harris on the bench and leave him there”

He eventually figured this one out
“Start Tua over Hurts”

1. Coker didnt peform well and SIm out performed him
2. Yeldon/Drake were doing fine. Henry need to get experience
3. Kiffin wasn't forcused. It has been well documented. He called a shitty game.
quote:

Privately, Saban was worried Kiffin already had one foot out the door before the Crimson Tide played Washington in Saturday's CFP semifinal at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl in Atlanta. He worried that Kiffin was spending too much time assembling his coaching staff and recruiting players for his new school. Kiffin had coaching candidates flying to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, for interviews during the holiday break before the Peach Bowl, and then he and new Owls offensive coordinator Kendal Briles interviewed more candidates in Atlanta last week.

According to sources, Saban fumed when Kiffin was several minutes late for a staff meeting in Tuscaloosa before the Crimson Tide broke for the Christmas holiday.

4. D.Harris is in NFL starting for Patriots. He did great job.

5. I've gathered from your post that you don't know shite.

WR is the one position where experience doesn’t really matter. It’s all about talent. Just because Bolden can “snatch the ball” doesn’t mean he should start over a guy who will be drafted third overall

Not true at all. Schemes at HS level and College level are completely different. You have to be able to recognize what route to run based on Defense giving look. They have to be able to block, be able to do lot of little things.
with the new OC we have, his playbook is designed to give WR complicated tasks of running routes right.

Is it me or was this article written by AI?
Like calling him John Metchie III and making up random anecdotes that the machine read about other receivers and not mentioning any particular games.

We've had so many freshmen play at WR under Saban. It's obviously pretty doable - esp for future first rounders like Julio, Cooper, Ridley, Devonta, Waddle, etc.

I don't think Bolden or Holden will be a first round pick, while Hall will be top 5 overall. I want this dude on the field Agiye Hall destroying DB

Julio Jones-Polished, once in a generational player.
Calvin Ridley-Polished, best receiver in class of 2015. Was ready to play immediately.
Waddle-He didnt' start.
Cooper- played in all 14 games, including starts in the final nine games. I believe Deandrew White was injured allowing Cooper to step in.
Smith-Didn't start.

So..................................

If that’s not it, then the coaches fricked up. Holden and Bolden are not good enough to start over the other guys we have - period.

People are forgetting that one of the biggest assets of the previous WR class was their ability to block and be where they were supposed to be. That’s why we will see Slade, Metchie and Holden

Bolden gets no respect here and he is clutch
He drops passes and fumbles some that he catches. He had more lost fumbles than the rest of the WRs combined. That's with relatively few catches.

That is not accurate. Can you provide of all fumbles he had the whole time he was with Alabama?

Your statement is misleading given that most of the receivers on the roster are new or hasn't seen a snap in the game.
