My opinion of Funny Maine changed drastically. Didn't realize what a racist he is...

I'm disappointed in him. If he wants to protest, that's his right, but he went too far with encouraging people to destroy property. Someone could've gotten hurt and it certainly led to tensions rising later that evening.

Mayor Randall Woodfin enabled the whole situation by telling the police to stand down. It was a total shite show and a bunch of innocent people's businesses got ransacked in the chaos. One TV reporter got assaulted and robbed on live TV. Such a disgrace.

I personally just didn’t like how he caused people to destroy businesses and hurt people and then on twitter he said he was raising money to help only the black businesses that were destroyed during the riots. That’s fine and all, but what about the innocent people of Birmingham who aren’t black and aren’t racist that had their businesses destroyed? Why not raise money for them too? What if an innocent non-black person worked their entire life to get their business and then had it destroyed for no reason? How is that fair? I’m always open to everyone’s opinions and I’ve changed some of my opinions and became more understanding, so if someone wants to explain that to me please do

Dude committed career suicide promoting conduct that furthers the divide this country. Plenty of moving and thought provoking demonstrations have occurred over the last 2 weeks but shite like this undermines it and gives people a reason to not be on board for a legitimate cause

He’s a piece of trash, and I’ve thought ever since he said he was cheering for Auburn in that game.

Yep. These politicians should be held liable.

Yeah, that doesn't make him a racist.

Short-sighted and angry with what has gone; yes.

Encouraging destruction of stores is foolishness.

Absolutely they should. But I doubt it will really happen unfortunately. Not sure about Birmingham but the lawlessness in the big liberal cities like Seattle and New York is being egged on intentionally. It's all about November and the election.

If after the Tuscaloosa tornado in 2011 Saban announced he was only raising money to repair white-owned businesses, he would have been rightly called a racist and run out of the SEC.

When YStar disagrees with you, it's a safe bet that you're right.

That is not even close to the same thing lol. Should he had said help all businesses yea he should have but your Saban example makes no sense. Funny Maine was just upset at the time.

How is it not the same thing? Granted, the circumstances are different because one is a man-made disaster and the other is a natural disaster. The message, however, is the same. You only care about the people of one race - that makes you a bigot at best and a racist at worst.

That's no excuse and, quite frankly, one of the few times you'll ever see an actual racist being racist. Anger brings a person's true feelings to the fore. I doubt you'd be trying to explain away his actions if he were white.
