Those stars and studies are BS.
I doubt you would be saying that if they supported your view.
Since you think that, how do you know there’s a prevalence? What makes you think anecdotal cases are better at determining what is or isn’t prevalent. Because if that’s the case, you’re completely relying on the media and social media to show you what they want to show you.
Let me put it like this: LSU fans always complain that Alabama gets their way with refs (holding in particular all the time). They seem to have confirmation bias because they only seem to see what they want to see. Never point out if they get away with holding. A study done last year showed that Michigan and Alabama has by far the lowest instances of their teams getting opposing teams’ defensive penalties called. Shows that maybe the refs don’t have this giant and obvious favoritism towards Alabama.
Studies aren’t the end all be all, and stats can be presented in a misleading way, but both are more telling of an overall situation than anecdotal evidence. Anecdotal evidence are usually pointed out because people are looking for something (like the LSU fans) or more likely they’re the more extreme cases and that’s why they garner attention.

The media has a narrative that they're always pushing and it is all about swaying votes for the November election. CNN and the like are bull$hitters who constantly use propaganda to brainwash people. They've been lying like dogs for years.

So to be clear, any evidence that challenges your beliefs is "BS" and not worthy of consideration?
Subjective feelings matter more than objective facts to far too many people of both political persuasions.

Apparently they dropped the charges. Also never realized he lives in north Shelby County. I thought all those people were bad.

Racist... youre saying this to a black male... this thread has completely gone off the rail... so many people in here showed their true colors....

I get it if you’re questioning how his actions are racist. But are you one of those people that says black people can’t be racist?
Just come out and say it

Yes, everyone has a preconceived bias about many things including this Bama comedian. DNA says we all came from the same parents and these discussions tend to prove it.
But the term racist has to be defined as something more than just a common built-in bias we share in common. How aggressive are these feelings? What does it motivate a person to say and do? Racism in the south and other places have been willing to take this term as far as physically hurting or even taking a life. That is some serious racism.

According to one of my former friends, yes. The alarming part is he has a PhD in sociology and is a college professor. Tried to tell me it was only discrimination when I experienced it, because my race was in the majority. I then told him no woman has experienced sexism, because they were the majority gender. He flipped his shite and went straight liberal and removed all my comments, so I just deleted him from my life entirely. Been 4-5 years now. I can only imagine the level of prolapsed anus he's been of late.

The term racist is a pretty strong feeling. Yet some people are willing to throw it around so easily.
People now believing only one race can be racist is another ridiculous notion. It also just gives some people an excuse to be racist

That's it. Lots of people have some bouts of this because of our nature and even the culture we grew up in. It doesn't mean these same folks have any ambition of burning crosses on other people's lawn or want to put their knee on someone's neck until they are dead.

I agree. Yeah do some people on both sides of the fence have pre conceived notions of the other race, sure. But downright hate for a race is a completely different story.

Didn't he say he was only going to donate money raised to help black owned businesses that were looted and burned after he incited the riot?

I don't understand why anyone thought his schtick was ever funny. To each his own, though.
I thought calgrad's points re: class were spot on. Racism is real and still a significant problem, but we as a nation don't discuss the role that class plays in that enough, either. All you have to do is look at statistics or listen to people talk about neighborhoods in places where there isn't much racial diversity but there is a whole lot of class diversity (much of Appalachia). Certain areas of town are poor/redneck/meth areas.....and that's where cops hang out and where most families seem to have at least one family member always in jail or on probation or in trouble. And those families are all white, but the process/situation is very, very similar to the cycle of incarceration in poor black areas.
There is a fantastic SNL skit with Tom Hanks that absolutely nails it.

Looking back, I found his posts amusing but not something I eagerly awaited to see. He showed his true colors and I hope they serve him well. As for me, I won't watch or endorse anything he posts or says.
