Auburn's last TD was with over 12 min to go in the game. Yet we still lost by 12. Offense had plenty of time to put some points on the board and we couldn't.

It could also be argued that AU played more conservatively because they had the lead.
I do agree that the offense did have time though.

While the defense didn’t get gashed outside a couple of plays, they were still picking up yards including from Stidham’s scrambles (his 53 yards was a season high for him). We also struggled to get pressure on him. I think that’s the biggest problem with the defense. We can’t get pressure unless we blitz but than we don’t usually get to the QB.

I completely agree although I will say that there was also a chance that AU would've continued to play conservatively even if scored again. Just look at the LSU game. Of course that also means Gus wouldn't want a repeat and would've kept his foot on the gas. That's all hypothetical though.

I hate that we didn't account for Stidham's legs. Of course if we hadn't blitzed, it would've given him the ability to pick us apart. That's a credit to Auburn for having a truly balanced offense.

Excuse me for having an opinion that disagrees with you. But our D this year has looked very undisciplined when we needed them to step up.

Dude that excuse doesn't work. No defense is going to be great when the offense can only make one first down conversion on third down. We have the number 2 def in the country for god sake.

but they did pick up the slack against Mississippi State and, to a lesser degree, LSU. If you say Jalen lost this game, then you have to say that he won the MSU and LSU games...Auburn's the only game where the offense has failed to put up 24+

The defense held LSU to 10 points. How do you give that win to the offense? 24 points is not that many in the modern game.

Some of you probably credit Hurts with the 10-0 win against LSU in 2016 because he ran in the sole TD.

Go back and read any post LSU game article by any reputable sports journalist, and see what they thought about Jalen's performance.

He put up 220 yards of offense. He definitely wasn't awful.

Maybe while you are laughing like a little girl I can help you comprehend my post better. I do not care what experts said about last year or what our ranking is this year on D. My issue is our D looked very undisciplined at times more so then any other year which caused us to give up some big play and way to many 3rd and long.

Do not want to forget here

You guys seriously laughing at our QB for being nominated for an award?

It’s amazing how many people purposely want him to fail.

Some people want Tua to start so bad it's blinding their judgement. All of the that talk should be curbed until spring.

And some people have their heads in the sand relative to Jalen.

But that didn’t answer my question. Who on here is saying they want Jalen to the fail?

Why would anyone say that and pin themselves to a statement? They troll around the topic then deny it the second it's brought up, just like a good liberal, can never nail them down.

My thoughts on Jalen are simple he is the QB now, we still have at least 1 game, shape the offense to fit him or put someone else in.

I think this is where the disconnect has been with our OC and Hurts. If Hurts is a DT QB create a DT offense but I have yet to see that. I think our DC wants to run a pro style system and I do not believe that Hurts can perform the way he is needed to in a pro style.

Pretty much spot on, if he doesn't make the offense DT with lots of motion he setting Jalen up for failure and doing him disservice. If he wants the Pro style hybrid someone else has to run it.

Actually he is, if the offense was shaped to for his skill set. Misdirection and running, passing from the misdirection he thrives in. But let's see what they do my faith is shaken in the OC some what.

if DT means dual threat, as in a threat to pass or run effectively, then he isn't that because though he is a very good runner, he isn't even a good passing qb, let alone the other things like reading defense and check down to receivers.

He just isn't.

It appears we do have a dual threat, but it's Tagovailoa. Other than a triple option type offense, I'm pretty sure Tua will be better at it.

Are you still getting off on Hurts not being a great passer? He has a decent arm and when the right plays are called can be very effective. He is our best option this year so try to live with that.

A lot to do play calling. It just is what it is, if they force him to be a pro style QB he will keep being average. It was made so clear against Auburn. The DT style would make him a more efficient passer as lanes would open a little more and less reading the defense. Either way they have to make adjustments or we will lose our next game.
