Perhaps the most talented roster in college football. Is this it?

Is Womack toast ? Please tell me that DeBoer has the stones to make a change after yesterday. There is just no way that Womack keeps his job after how bad the defense has looked the last three halves.

It's bad.....it's one thing to lose a title game or a tough SEC game

This is up there with LA-Monroe or Northern Illinois

No.

Vanderbilt is still an SEC team despite being Vandy.

We’ve lost to La Tech, Southern Miss 21-0, UCF for homecoming when they were up and coming and Northern Illinois. All of those losses happened in a five year span.

It’s a bad loss but there have been worse.

Those losses could be excused because of the NCAA stuff that we were dealing with at the time. This loss is reprehensible. Our roster is far too talented to get butt raped by Vandy. DeBoer might not be the best person for this job. Wommack is certainly in over his head.

We've lost to worse overall teams, but this is still by far one of the worst losses.

If your team is bad, losing to other bad teams means nothing.

We were undefeated, #1, coming off a huge historic win, supposed to be this juggernaut program, etc.

We are better than Vandy at basically every single position on the field.

And they completely dominated the game.

Who would replace him and what recruits would we lose if he's fired?

Promote Chuck Morrell to linebacker coach. Perhaps elevate Roach. Anything would be an improvement over what we’ve seen so far.

After that defensive line performance?

Kane Wommack is the Alabama defensive coordinator, at least until the end of the season.

Wommack shouldn't be fired mid-season...but he's on notice for a serious postseason evaluation. Pete Golding's defense just held South Carolina to 3 points. Pete freakin Golding. Next Saturday...let's see what we do.

Worst loss? Bama has lost to worse teams, sure, but they weren't ranked #1 with what was listed as the most talented roster in college football.

This was the worst loss in Bama football history.

How they respond will tell us everything.

La Tech in 99 was probably #1

This Vandy QB is basically Nick Marshall, Tommy Frazier, etc in that he is an absolute perfect fit to run his offense and is a veteran player. If they had beaten Mizzou, the conversation would be completely different right now. Its a bad loss but not even close to having lost to Derek Mason Vandy

His defense also got humiliated by Kentucky, one of the worst offensive teams in CFB.

Worst loss relative our roster and what it could mean for the future of the program.

Even talking with friends the consensus seems to be the worst loss in the last 40 years.

ULM was Saban's first year and we had way less talent than this team.

NIU was probation aided and they had a future NFL star at RB.

I take some comfort in knowing that Deboer really won't be the one who decides if Wommack hangs around or not. It'll be Greg Byrne.

Deboer doesn't carry the weight to decide these things on his own, and headcoaches are often loyal to assistants to a fault. If it's the right thing for the program, Greg Byrne will make it happen.

La Tech was bad but they had a talented team.the 99 Bama team was talented too, but it was coached by Mike DuBose.

Maybe we look back and realize Bama has DuBose 2.0 right now and the loss doesn’t seem so bad because the coaching staff sucked.

La Tech had Ratay at QB and Willie Roaf at LT.

One year though we knocked Ratay out and let the back-up beat us with a long pass.
