He better be told to bounce his arse.

No hard feelings, just business.

He won't stay due to the new early signing day in two weeks.

If he stays anyway he will have his mind on UT not the playoffs. And if he does we have a new coordinator. Either way that's 3 years in a row we've lost a coordinator for the playoffs. Sheesh

Doesn't the dead period start sometime this week anyway?

Yep. Best for him to go on now, and let Tosh takeover for the playoffs. Does more harm than good to have a coordinator who is spending a lot of his time and attention on staffing, recruiting, etc for his new gig. We've already seen how badly that went with Kirby & Kiffin.

An issue with Pruitt leaving isn’t him calling the defense, it’s that he coaches inside linebackers. Given our current situation at that position, it won’t be great to not have an inside linebackers coach.

I know the players love the guy!! They play hard for him, and were Excited when we hired him.

We need a rule where coaches cannot interview or get hired before the teams season is over. This is patently unfair to the players who have sacrificed so much throughout the year or several years to get to the point of playing for a National Championships, only to have their coaches dump, them when they need them the most. Where is the loyalty and team spirit they constantly preach to college athletes? Where is the trust?
Jobe and MWilson tweeted recently that Pruitt had assured them he was not leaving!
So much for that.

Stop being emotional. College football is a business. And, if need be Saban has a few guys on staff who can take over for Pruitt.

There is nothing emotional about it.Its reality. Ask the players what they really think.

Tennessee still hammering out final details with Jeremy Pruitt, but both sides expect him to be officially announced as the Vols' head coach on Thursday. I'm also told the plan is for him to pull double duty and stay on as Alabama's DC through the College Football Playoff.

Great..so we get a half arse game plan. Congrats to him, now let him go.
We don't need another kiffin trying to hire a staff during film.. with early signing period its just too much to handle. This is Pruitt not Kirby.

The early signing period is the 20-22 correct? I doubt we would actually be installing the actual gameplan before those dates anyway. The first few days of bowl practices are usually more like extra camp days anyway.
