From Saban in his presser:

Saban on Deontae Lawson, Jaylen Key: "One guy has an ankle (Lawson), one guy's got a quad (Key). I don't know how bad the injuries are."

Gonna need these guys back sooner rather than later but might be able to absorb it for a couple of weeks. Would probably miss Lawson the most v. Auburn. Obviously would need all hands on deck if we make the SECCG.

Hope they are both ok.
We are very fortunate to have Campbell and Marshall in that LB room.

I'd like to see more out of Lawson this year.
He has flashes but at times he gets overpowered and can't keep up.
With that being said; I'm glad there aren't many more super mobile QBs outside a handful.

This game against Kentucky is perfect for Kendrick Blackshire to log a ton of snaps.

He made 1 mistake that young people make. He had the drop on the ball and missed. He forgot had he tackled the receiver the clock runs out.its a learning tool and can be shown to him on film.

Boz, I get what you are saying… But he’s a freaking senior. Somethings you just don’t do.

He is not a young player. There was talk before the season that Pope and maybe some others had passed him up. Seems like another case of Saban going with seniority over talent.
I dont think this was the first game this season where Story got some good run with the ones. He has not shown any reason to believe he can be counted on at that position.

By Young I mean in his actual time playing. Not his class or anything. He hasn’t played much has he? I could be wrong.

I do think we have better players than him I’m just saying he hasn’t played a lot.

Story has played in about 30 games in his college career. All at safety.
Im ready to see what the other guys can do.

I believe DeVonta Smith #8 had passed Story up prior to his foot (?) injury. Could be wrong, but I remember reading he was getting reps with the 1s before he got injured.

That just isn’t true. He’s played on special teams mostly.

He’s also lost on passing downs and really flubbed on one of JDs scrambles.
