Am I the only person that has noticed that we are terrible at inbounding the ball?

It’s been this way all year. Never saw a team that is this good be so bad at a basic part of the game.

What gives?

Damn. I didn't realize by beginning good at basketball, we were gonna have Cajunbama just starting basketball threads.

Eh, frick it. Still worth it.

But to answer the question, it's not good. We have to use a PG, that's a better passer. But by having someone short, it's been a problem all season. I'd like to see Miller inbound some.

The year as a whole we’ve run some nice sets for BLOB plays, but here recently it’s definitely been a struggle. I want to say we did get Welch wide open on a layup against Arkansas in one of our sets Saturday.

jab step one away, sprint back the other way with hand out showing where you want the ball.

It's that f'n simple.

Oats does not seem to be bothered which bothers me. He is content to let the person inbounding to throw it high to someone who is basically standing still. Having your smallest person inbounding the ball is not a good idea though.

actually you want a good ball handler throwing the ball in. the tall guy is not usually the answer imo.

No double screens to get a shooter open...no backdoor movement, no high low sets....just hope someone gets open...it's confusing to me....we should have 5 inbounding plays we can use in any situation....hopefully one of the tournament games doesn't come down to an inbound play....

Late in the Arkansas game, Brandon Miller was inbounding the ball. He consistently got it to Mark Sears, who hit almost every free throw he earned as a result of the immediate foul.

I honestly don't know if Miller has consistently been our in-bound passer, but I'd bet that set gets used a lot more if needed.

It's not as easy as people make it seem against good defenses from under the basket. I'd say we're average overall.

However, I do think Oats could improve on adjusting in game. Sometimes he does and it works but there have been some games where we we're having a lot of trouble and just keep running the same set until a TO before we change.

Stewart was talking about this on the radio broadcast, and said there was a reason Miller was inbounding the ball-because he is the best at inbounding the ball.

But what sucks about that is late in the game he is the one guy I want on the FT line so I would prefer someone else inbound to Miller.

The inbounder is also hard to guard coming out. It would make sense to let Miller inbound and give it right back to him
