Assuming he is the starter will Saban pull him in favor of Jalen?

The big question is if Jalen comes in for Tua and struggles, will Saban pull him for Tua?

Saban's too conservative, too stubborn, and too loyal to pull Jalen and put in Tua after having previously pulled Tua. It's why we lost to auburn.

I agree, I'm putting my trust in Mac Jones coming in and lighting it up

Struggling vs Arky St should drop anyone to the seedy underbelly of the depth chart.

I'll take BigMac Jones and BRob for 6, Alex.

People's heads would explode I was so wrong about Robinson. I didn't think he had enough speed to cut it at Bama. I kinda thought he would just be a grinder and come in to give the other guys breaks. I was wrong. The guy puts his foot in the ground and gets up field with speed and power. I enjoy watching him.

Robinson was our fastest back during spring testing last year with a 4.44. Najee didn't run.

You can expect both Tua and Jalen to play significant minutes the first couple of games and then the guy that does the best will play the rest of the way. I would bet that it plays out like that unless Tua just overwhelmingly wins the locker room during fall camp.

After that, I don't think Tua gets pulled for a bad game unless he is playing so poorly we may lose.

The big thing that may get Tua benched are a bunch of turnovers.
However, Jalen had quite a few his freshman year, yet he kept playing.

i think saban would be quicker to pull tua in favor of jalen, than he was jalen in favor of tua.

Jalen Hurts has struggled 2 years vs good defenses and sometimes vs run of the mill defenses, so......

No, at least give him two full seasons and if we are down by multiple scores in the natty we can pull him.

If he "struggles", yeah saban will pull him. But there's a difference however between making mistakes and stuggling. He won't get pulled for making mistakes.

I think for instance, it was 3 picks blake sims threw in the first half of the 2014 iron bowl. That's struggling and blake still wasn't pulled.

You all really are clueless aren't you?
Tua is taking the first snap of the season. Prepare to be shocked. And guess what? He's going to light it the frick up.

Sure, he'll make mistakes, but he'll be the most exciting player to watch in the country. Our receivers will dominate.

Some valid points have been made. I feel I am reading another board - oh the civility.

I'm going out on a limb and predict Jones will be the backup. Once Jalen enrolls in fall class, Nick knows he's got him for depth and he's not going anywhere.
