My fondness of a 2020 Natty would only grow with time.

But let me be clear, I'll take a 2020 natl championship any day. Not saying that....just saying folks gonna talk what if for a while.

Everyone wants hot takes and comparisons. Just the way it is.

We call those folks losers . I know exactly what your saying but in the end it just doesn't matter. You didn't win your division, you didn't win your conference, you paid your QB 180,000 dollars fans will always find an asterisk. That is the fun of it.

As long as Bama is ranked #1 at the end of the year, the haters can say whatever they want. It'll still be another national championship feather in the crimson hat.

Someone is not thinking big picture.

The CFPs is out of reach this year for BYU. A game vs UDub wasn't changing that. They have too much ground to make up.

They are playing for NY6 bowl and need to stay ahead of Coastal Carolina (who they just scheduled) and hope Cincy loses.

Getting a raw deal and playing a more talented team on short notice that has handed you their arse the last two times you played (with UW being fresher and rested) is much riskier without adequate reward (gameday/TV monies for the Ath Dept or minimal boost in the polls even with an unlikely win).

I think they played it rather smartly. Knock out the next closest competition and continue to hope Cincy drops a game. Cincy plays a decent Tulsa team on the road next week, so they have a shot.

asterisk

Agreed, but it is an equal argument that it is the most difficult season to navigate toward a full schedule undefeated.

Going 13-0 vs. an all P5 schedule (Bama doing it in the best conference in the league) is a big deal in any season. All championships take a little luck to avoid key injuries and survive poor performances. This year, CV19 was the key injury that was critical to avoid. For those who navigated those waters safely or with minimal impact, good on them. It doesn't lessen the win anymore than LSU beating a less than 100% Tua last year or AU stealing a win vs Mac Jones in his first IB as a starter with Tua out.

But, that is just my opinion and is admittedly worth nothing.

Bama shouldn't be penalized for the Big Ten's mess and have to play the 2nd best team in the country in the semifinals.

I'd rather Bama draw tOSU or Clemson in the first round. They are the much more talented teams.

Saban teams are much better with prep and focus. More time exists for both vs the first round opponent. It is the short turn to the unknown finals opponent that I think Saban coached teams struggle more with.

SOMEBODY is going to be the 2020 National Champion, might as well be us. If there is not a champion then we shouldn’t have played the season ..... let em talk

Going to be hard to draw either one as a #1 seed. If Clemson is there it means ND lost the ACC. Ohio State nor Clemson will be seeded below a one-loss ND.

What?

You think the committee will still rank Notre Dame over Clemson if Clemson beats them in the ACC Championship Game?

No offense, but are you fricking high?

Notre Dame beat Clemson, at home, with Clemson playing without their best offensive weapon and their leader on defense.

Clemson has everyone back from injury and would have a neutral site win over Notre Dame if they were to get revenge.

They will absolutely jump ND if they win the rematch.

All that aside, if ND wins again Clemson won't be in the CFP. Texas A&M will get the fourth spot.

You're looking at this all wrong.

Yes, there will be an asterisk next to this season if we were to win it all.

We would be the first team in college football history to go 13-0 against Power 5 teams.

I'd venture to say it would be the greatest college football season of all time.

So Notre Dame loses the ACC Championship Game and you have Clemson as the 4 seed.

So where would you have Notre Dame ranked with Clemson being #4?

Um....

I didn't say "Ohio State "OR" Clemson would be seeded below ND. I said "NOR" Ohio State and Clemson would be seeded below ND.

I didn't mention Ohio State. I'm referring to this statement:

How is Clemson at #4 with a Notre Dame loss?

These are your exact words...

I mean, if you mistyped your thoughts just say so.

No need to go tap-dancing around the issue and quote other things you typed correctly.

How would you separate them? Otherwise, they would be contradicting each other.

But just for you:

"

As a #1 seed, it is going to be hard for Alabama to draw either Clemson or Ohio State. If Clemson is there (In the playoff) it means ND lost the ACC.

So that's your fix? Throwing (In the playoff) instead of just admitting you made a mistake?

Jesus, dude.

You probably should have drank another cup or two before posting this morning. You might not have screwed up the original post.

Why should I have to throw in the word playoff? That was the subject being discussed?

For a guy with not a lot to say, you seem to spend a lot of time suggesting folks confess their sins.

Because your original post stated for Clemson to be matched up with Alabama as the #1 seed, Notre Dame would have to lose the ACC.

You know it. I know it. Everyone with a 3rd grade reading comprehension knows it.

You screwed up. It happens.

Sins?

Good Lord.

Are you this high strung in real life?

It's a fricking message board. You mistyped something. I asked for clarification. Instead of admitting your mistake, you doubled down on it like a child.
