I Hope Keilan Robinson Gets More Involved
They need a spark at RB, and Keilan has that Kamara type skill set.

I loved his H.S. reel. He has great hands, vision, wiggle, burst, and he's harder to get down in the open field than you would think for a sub-200 pounder. (at least in H.S.)

This past week his TD run was a good example of what is missing from the RB's. He patiently waited for a seam, and as soon as he saw daylight he planted foot and showed incredible acceleration through the hole.

I'm also hoping we see Waddle line up in the backfield at some point this season to see if they can create a mismatch or two vs better competition.

Juice had some speed to burn on that run, hopefully theres more opportunities in space for him.

There's been a lot of motion with WRs ending up off tackle at H so far this year, so definitely wouldn't surprise me...

Coach Saban has noticed and Keilan is built for what is ailing us, narrow running lanes. Doesn't mean that Najee doesn't need to find his rhythm back there. When he does, he won't need that much blocking to get downfield.

Keilan is gonna be a beast next year when he tacks on about 10 lbs of muscle with that speed. Even now, we need to find snaps for him. Just gotta think his pass pro probably isn’t up to par yet.

yep- unless he can block for Tua, he wont play much. All it takes is one whiff on a block, and we see a free shot at Tua's knees.

I know that’s a joke. But I’d love to see him at about 200 next year.

So he can't pass block. We need him in there getting carries. If you have to throw with him in there, go max protect so unless they bring the house, someone else can pick up his slack. The point is, we need his running ability to get the rushing attack untracked.

I really don't want to sit Devonta Smith and Jaylon Waddle in order to get Robinson on the field. It isn't a good tradeoff right now if we have to bring in extra blockers. That leaves an elite WR on the bench. Plus, the RB for the most part picks up a LB if they blitz so having a TE in the game might not really change much from the way he has to block on a pass play. Plus, we are primarily a passing team. Lastly, Najee and Brian are better running backs right now. Don't let a garbage time touchdown run fool you. With all that said, I enjoyed watching him play and look forward to seeing more of him.

Cole Cublic was discussing one of the smaller Auburn running backs yesterday (189lbs). Cole said he got knocked on his but twice in the last game by a 250 lb linebacker. Cole said that just dont work. No way you can put a running back that small out there and expect him to take on a 250 or 260 lb linebacker.

Kamara does pretty well in the NFL playing between 210-215. Keilan is probably 190-195 right now. Point taken though, he definitely needs to gain 15 pounds.

It is difficult to make these light in the pants players every-down backs in the SEC. Too much wear and tear. But they work just fine in the right football situations.

Kerryon Johnson came into the SEC as a 190 pounder. He was being used as a change of pace, 3rd down type guy down at the barn. Got bigger and with his speed won SEC POY.

20 lbs really isn't that much for these players to negotiate with the nutrition and weight program they have available. Just takes a little time.
