Blind luck and sucky defense by the Barn got us a win in Jordan-Hare last year, Saban was just along for the ride.

That goes against the "trolls drive traffic" nature of this website.

It's easier to just know which users are pure trolls or offer absolutely nothing to an actual football discussion, like YStar or this remaster guy, and skip right over their posts. Not a requirement to actually engage with them.

Chicken uses the Zuck method of driving engagement by stoking discord.

It’s a C grade. 9-3 is an average season. A couple of nice wins and a couple of BAD losses. If we sneak into the playoffs , we can talk extra credit.

There’s no way you can say this with certainty

Some nice wins over some good teams, but 2 awful losses. I think the Vandy loss did wake him up some that you have to prepare for every team. The OU game, Milroe was so bad and it's so confusing how that game unfolded, Vandy and UTK are easy to figure out.

1st year in the SEC, you could see the potential at times, you could also see some worrisome aspects but 1st year in a new conference following the GOAT

Keep this recruiting class intact and let's see what changes he makes, roster and coaching, in the offseason.

I'm optimistic he can do well here. We need to give him time and see what happens.

I think the OU loss is what is biting me. It took me awhile to accept the Vandy loss and finally was in acceptance of it and it seemed like the team rebounded really well with the win streak and then the OU game just absolutely brought back some doubts about stuff. Like another poster mentioned, the highs (like beating UGA and LSU) felt amazing. But the lows have sucked and I’m not used to having to cope with losses that just feel so uncharacteristic and unacceptable of the Bama program.

1. Undisciplined.
2. Lost to two unranked teams.
3. Very inconsistent.

The season isn’t over yet. Grades come when class is complete.

Only someone who is somewhat simple takes the recruiting rankings seriously. They get you in the ballpark but that is all. Any specific recruit’s ranking might be clueless. Politics and misevaluations are a large part of the rankings.

If Deboer makes the playoffs, I'd give it a B+. We have to wait & see.

So Washington has out recruited Alabama? That is a new one on me.

They beat Texas. Twice. Meanwhile, we were facing two straight blowout losses at the hands of those same Texas teams had Ewers stayed healthy in 2022.

So...

I’d say a C. Very average season and it’s honestly reasonable to say this team underperformed.

As of tonight...B-

There was just no excuse losing to Oklahoma like that last week. Worse than the Vandy loss.

But he's also 1-0 against Georgia, LSU and Auburn.

I'd prefer a tad more hard arse demeanor wise...rule with a fair, but iron fist. But if we'd won either vandy or ou we'd be comfortably in the cfp...that stings.

Obviously could been a lot worse. Was probably on pace for a B+ or better before the Oklahoma debacle
