How perfect was it that one of our biggest defensive plays of the game.....Posted by SummerOfGeorge

Was a 3rd down stop in which we were confused and had the 11th man sprinting off the field, but we stopped it with 10 guys anyway

I thought we had 12 on and were gonna get a flag a first.

I did too, then didn't see a flag and thought they'd challenge it, then realized our stupid asses probably ran the 11th man off.....and low and behold we had.

I actually counted and told my gf(no pics) that we only have 10 guys on the field.

Herbie wanted there to be 12 guys so badly. Am I the only one who thought he was a little biased in his commentary?

No. He was terrible. He completely trivialized Tuf Borland holding onto Najee's leg 8 seconds after they called it a TD on the opening drive. I believe he said it wasn't that big of a deal.
Chris Fowler was terrible in his own right. When Wyatt Davis went down he said it was adding to an already depleted Ohio State defensive line.

They had a wide open td on that. Don't know how fields missed that one

Im paraphrasing, but the ref cracked me up. "There is no penalty against the defense, the player running off the field was the 11th man" I laughed so hard after that scenario

The whole commentary from Fowler and Herby was terrible. Not so much bias but just mistakes and random talk for no reason. On Najees second TD Fowler said it was for the “Hat trick” when it wasn’t. Then WTF was he saying at the end of the game. “In a season of chaos, the Crimson Tide are the.... CONFRENCE?!!”

LOL I know - it was basically like "I know it looked bad, but actually they're just idiots and got lucky. No penalty"

it was a trick play by the bama defense. made tosu think they had a free penalty play and they eased up.
p.s. it was fowler that kept referring to the injured o lineman as a d lineman,
fowler used to be very good. now he's just annoying. so glad he left gameday

Lol everyone in the crowd was complaining that we got away with that one.

I was literally hollering at my TV when he was running off and it was a huge relief when I saw that he was the 11th player. Luckily the sound machine in my kids room is loud enough to mask the screaming from the living room.

I think you mean Chris Fowler.
Yes, he was bad all night. At the end of the game, he almost called Alabama the "conference champions" instead of national champions.

Actually, running an 11th guy off might be a future tactic to foil hurry up offenses. Make them think they have a free play so they rush things. Often teams will try a risky play thinking that they will get another down anyway. When they throw a pick or incompletion but don’t get another down, the defense will be laughing.

I'm assuming that Fields was caught off guard by the guy running off the field so I think it was just a new strategy Saban has figured out before anyone else.
