I want Alabama to win in all sports. I will watch football when we're losing. I won't watch other sports when we're losing.

No. My parents met at UA and are UA alums. There's a scholarship named after my grandfather there. I went to UNA and UAB.

I don't typically watch pro sports.

I'm an alumnus of UA and I care about all of our sports. I want years of success like 2012 with Natty's in football, golf mens and womens, softball, etc. I want baseball going to Omaha and I want basketball playing into late March each year. I'm not a FOG.

Yep. Anything with that beautiful A. Swimming and diving, tennis, etc.

I care about any sport that dons the Crimson. I follow football and basketball closely and have since I was a kid so about 45 years worth. I follow most of the other sports casually.

No, I’m not an alum although I’ve probably spent more time on campus than many a graduate. I had a Presidential to Bama and turned it down because of my future ex-wife to go to Samford which in hindsight really didn’t make any sense at all since she went to Bama after me but it is what it is. I jokingly say I have half of a finance degree from UA because I did several of her papers/projects for her.

My kid is probably going to take her Presidential and attend the honors college in Tuscaloosa and I was in Tide Pride for years. All that to say I’m not your typical sidewalker and I’m probably more invested emotionally and financially in Bama than many alumni.

And I loathe FOGs. Football has and always will be king at Bama and is sacred. It is well taken care of and lacks for nothing. It is also guarded jealously and for good reason. I have no issues with that and I agree with it. But nothing among that precludes us from taking care of our other programs and ensuring they get what they need to be great. Being a FOG is just silly.

Not an alum, but my oldest daughter is and youngest will be there in August. Played D2 baseball so would have gone to Bama if good enough . Been a die hard fan all my life and pull , support, go to see a variety of sports at Bama. Living through my kids . Just thankful they went/ are going. Once I retire from teaching/coaching in 3 years I will take a class at Bama to say I went there

I was just trying to figure out if there are truly large segments of the fanbase that have absolutely zero interest in any other sports to the point of being hostile about them being discussed like some on this website. I never thought so, but it got me wondering.

Football and basketball obviously....Bama basketball has been so damn frustrating. I don't follow the other sports because it doesn't interest me but that doesn't mean I don't want them to be succesful. Maybe if we were really good at college baseball like LSU I would be as interested as their fans are. I do like the college world series and always follow it.

This ^^^ except I do take some interest in Alabama basketball, but mostly because my son is big into it for some reason.

I am an alumnus.

I live and breathe Alabama Football, I love basketball a lot, the other Alabama teams I couldn’t tell you one player that’s ever played for them. I’m Football & Basketball only.

1. I care about all Alabama sports, but obviously football is king.

2. I'm not an alum. Was too far from home at the time. USA alum.

3. Professional sports I follow are NHL, MLB, NFL.

I realize I didn't meet the criteria to answer 2 and 3 but I did it anyway.

I hope Alabama wins at everything they compete at but I don’t follow any other sport besides Football. If basketball, softball, volleyball, gymnastics, or golf is on I’ll watch.

All good answers thanks guys.

I'm not the abritrator of how people watch sports but all of these seem totally appropriate to me. We all have our likes and dislikes which determines what sports we have more specific interests in. However, in the end if a team in Crimson is competing we very much want them to win.

Like I said before, what I don't understand is people who show irritation at any other sport at Alabama existing. I just don't get it.

Football dwarfs all other sports for me. For the life of me I don't understand why people act like trying to be good at the other sports somehow hurts football though.

Bama football is of course #1.
I loved CM and Wimp. With them we could play at the highest levels.

The University of Alabama just hasn't taken basketball seriously enough. Probably because most of you fans don't really give a crap about it.

Baseball? Like watching paint dry. Would rather go to a soccer game or gymnastics meet. Regardless, if Bama gives scholarships in it and they wear the crimson, then we should be winning

The only one I know that just goes into threads to say how much he doesn't like other Bama sports is the guy who gets his jollies from making Bama football videos from some irrelevant year.

There are 2-3 others that have gotten hot in the last few months on the other board who seem determined to let everyone know Alabama fans don't care about other sports.

You're damn straight we don't. Every cent put into another facility is costing us a five star going to Clemson.

My ranking of Bama sports I care most about...

1. Basketball
2. Football
3. Baseball
4. Softball
5. Golf
6. Gymnastics

The rest I don't really follow, though do still want them to do well. Used to follow women's soccer casually, but haven't paid attention over the last few 5 or 6 years.

Here’s my stance:

I hope Alabama wins everything they compete in but both basketball and baseball make my eyes burn so I don’t watch either even if Alabama is winning or in the national championship. I hate both that bad. I grew up in the shitty years of football for Alabama (late 90s-early/mid 2000s) so no one can tell me I’m a side walker or band wagoner. I bleed crimson and white and I’ll cheer for this team 0-12 just as much as 15-0.

I’m not an alumni but all the people who are that hold a holier than thou stance just look at the student section this past year. I’ve probably put more money into the program than a lot of alumni have. But respectfully, I hope everyone gets along equally and looks past a degree and “who belongs to being a fan” like the Bowl Jacksons of the world.

I really love Bama football and enjoy watching basketball as well, even though Avery almost killed that part of me. I used to go to football games but age and physical problems have slowed that roll down.I follow baseball but don't really watch games and just like Bama to do well in all sports and really don't like the gymnastics team stumbling lately.I never watch MLB and have stopped watching NFL games except for the Super Bowl.I didn't go to Bama but my Dad did and one of my biggest joys in life was watching and talking about Bama with my Father before he passed away.ROLL TIDE !!
