Yeah I thought the flow of the game was setting up for a QB change at start of 3rd...
But when we came out with TS and we went flat, I knew our chances to win were very slim.
I think that was a defining moment and decision for Kalen. And his indecision to not create a spark or momentum was very damning.

He's obviously talented but will he be able to pass protect? That seems like the best indicator of who plays. Really hope Dear makes a huge jump in that department this off-season.

I have never seen a group of RB's at Bama this F bad. Then again, I am only 75.
Dear ain't it either.

Hell no.
But he can fricking run the ball.

I have no hate for Coach Deboer. He's a good coach. But this is his last year of grace. If he doesn't put hardware in the case next year, he should pack. Too much has been given to tolerate mediocrity.
The dude just won the SEC reg season championship

It ain’t 1983 anymore…
The only time we've given a coach more than 3 years with nothing to show for it, and it ended up working out, that coach was Bear Bryant.
Bear Bryant took on a team that had only won 4 games in the three years prior to his arrival, and turned that into 2 bowl games in his first 3 years/
DeBoer did not come into that same situation when he took over Bama and should be expected to produce something within his first 3 years.

This is NOT A THING.

I keep asking people railing about the running game to come up with a combination of backs in our locker room who could be a competent, consistent unit, and all I get is stuff about schemes and “coaching them up.”

This isn't basketball. That isn't a thing. His team just got GAPED in a nationally televised championship game. At no point past the initial whistle were they a threat to win. In the 3rd quarter, they had just over 60 yards of total offense.
fricking spare me. Bama doesn't give a fiddler's frick about how hard you tried. Win or make room for someone that can.

Just a reminder, Kalen DeBoer has more SEC title game appearances than Lane Kiffin, Mike Elko, Brent Venables, Josh Heupel, Eli Drinkwitz, Clark Lea and every other hot name during this coaching carousel season.
Granted he made the SEC title game, but all of those other guys except Lea and Drink have made the 12 team CFP. At a place like Bama, if you can’t finish in the top 12 after 3 years….

You're an open wheels racer. Enzo Ferrari hands you the keys to an F1 ride. You think he expects you to try your best and do good? frick no. He wants podiums. He gave you the keys to get podiums.
DeBoer has the seat and the backing, but both can be yanked if he doesn't produce. That's the game

Exactly. We're a podium program, not an also-ran program.

Just a reminder...having more SECCG appearances than the head coach at Vanderbilt is not the Alabama standard.

The Bills have a lot of superbowl appearances. Too bad they never won and no one cares.

You are completely on target. Anyone saying “he made the SEC champ” or even worse “regular season champs!” are fricking morons who have no clue what they are looking at on a day to day basis.

It should be CFP appearance or bust next year. He seems like a nice guy, probably too nice. Was a terrible fit from the word go. A huge miss by Byrne.
