Should be our fifth Heisman. Still bitter about Tua not winning.
Sixth. Trent Richardson was hands down the best player when he finished behind RGIII, who was manufactured by the ESPN PR machine.

Heisman voting is a joke. It's a big deal for the players who win it, and they should feel pride in winning it, but the selection process is in bad need of an overhaul. Too many people who have no business having a vote.
I agree. There are beat writers of team sites that have a vote. You have some assholes like Brando who want to get attention with their votes.

We were mighty close with AJ McCarron twice and Trent Richardson as well!

I disagree, RG3 was hands down the best player that season. I think AJ should have won it in 2012, and he wasn’t even a finalist

Before Saban, Alabama had never won the heisman. There were a few in the top ten but the closest Bama came to the heisman was in 1993 when David Palmer came in 3rd.
During the Saban era...
2009 - Mark Ingram became Alabama's 1st winner.
2011 - Trent Richardson 3rd.
2013 - AJ McCarron 2nd.
2014 - Amari Cooper 3rd.
2015 - Derrick Henry became Alabama's 2nd winner.
2018 - Tua Tagovailoa 2nd.
2020 - Devonta Smith became Alabama's 3rd winner; Mac Jones 3rd; & Najee Harris 5th.
Heisman winners and 2nd and 3rd runner ups
In the last 12 years, Bama has had 6 players invited to New York (not counting the 2 last year - no New York ceremony).

Heisman Trophy finalists will be announced tonight at about 7:10p ET (crosses fingers and toes) on ESPN.
Safe to say Bryce Young will be there.
I'd guess Aidan Hutchinson, Kenny Pickett, too.
Could be a year with 4-5 finalists because i think after Young votes will be scattered

Hutchison over Anderson is so ridiculous.

QB play over the last 5yrs has been really incredible. It’s gotten better and better each yr.
But what we witnessed Saturday from BY is truly a special and gifted QB. Just plays with uncanny calmness and poise. Just destroyed a damn good defense.

Vegas is usually spot on about the Heisman odds. It’s like they know who’s going to win. At least in the recent years that I been following their odds.
The guy at Stiff Arm Trophy was so good—he was correct 12 years in a row—the Heisman Trust basically shut him down.
He used to poll actual voters, and listen to what hints other voters would speak about in radio interviews, etc. and compile an educated-guess type tally.
I used to follow his site for years, and that guy was always money with his projections.

The best marketing campaign is what Bryce did on the field Saturday by dicing up Georgia's defense and making it look easy.

Not awarding the nations top defensive player award on the same night, on the same platform, at the same time as the Heisman is ridiculous.
You bring the top three offensive players, and the top three defensive players, and award the two trophies accordingly with equal prestige being awarded to the two winners.
Seems like day one level logic to me. SMH

Aidan got in over Will.
Absolute BS. Shouldn't matter that Bryce is already in.
Hopefully Will and the defense can use it for extra motivation

Aidan isnt even a finalist for other def awards just goes to show what a joke heisman voters are.

Reminds me of Charles Woodson winning it over Peyton Manning. That revealed what a joke the Heisman is some years. A lot of years they get it right.

Bryce is gonna run away with it. Not only is he the most deserving out of the 4 finalists, the other 3 are all at Northern Schools. He’s gonna basically sweep the Southern Region while they all split votes. I bet he gets 50% of the 1st place votes

The SI announcement on Bryce Young. The last two paragraphs of the write up are quoted below - there’s going to be a TV special that announces the finalists 5-10.
Alabama QB Bryce Young Named Heisman Trophy Finalist
Alabama QB Bryce Young Named Heisman Trophy Finalist

Heading into Monday afternoon, Young's Heisman odds with Vegas had climbed to a staggering -3000. The second-best odds were from Hutchinson at +2000, while Pickett was +2500 and Stroud at +3000.
On Dec. 9 at 8 p.m. CT on ESPN following the Home Depot Awards Show, the top-10 finishers of the Heisman vote will be featured in a television special. While the top four candidates were revealed on Monday evening, the remaining six players will be announced at that time.
