Yes I have. HS highlights can be exciting and yet misleading. He seems to have the talent. We’ll see.

He is similar to Tua, so I don't see why people want to pour cold water on his hype.

I don't think it's "pouring cold water on the hype" to say "I want to see him against SEC players before I say he's as good as Tua".

Tua is literally the NCAA all-time leader in pass efficiency. I think it's fair to hold off on saying Bryce is that good until we see him complete a college pass.

Yep, people can hide it for a few days but inevitably they start to show their hand. Post History don't lie.

Excessive hype can lead to unreasonable expectations - just would like to seem him throw some balls in spring and fall before starting up the Heisman talk

Yeah, but before that Tua was just some kid out of Hawaii no differently that Bryce from Cali.

We both know Bryce looks the part. He was so dominate they reduced his playing time in the allstar game to keep things competitive.

I ecpect big things from him and immediately. I have no belief Golding will give us a top defense, so we need elite QB play in order to win a championship in todays climate.

I just don't think it's fair to the kid to say because the last star high school prospect became the most efficiency passer in NCAA history that he will too. I mean he might, he seems to have the skill set to, but he hasn't even thrown a college pass yet.

I think it's totally reasonable to say that we're all really excited about him but want to actually see him play before matter of factly saying he is Tua 2.0.

The history of college football is littered with can't miss QB prospects who never lived up to the hype.

Yeah this is fair

I know I'm being unreasonable, but we really need him to meet these expectations.

What we really need is the defense to play better. We can win it all with a Qb that isn't on Tua's level. Hell, almost no one is. I hope we don't think we need a near-generational player under center to win championships.

And Young will have to take the job from Mac. Jones is a heckuva Qb. Don't know why folks can't see it.

He looks good. I’ll be interested to see him at 215 and slinging it to our 4 and 5 stars. Aside from that I’d like to see him throw more some of the long balls look a little short but that’s being petty.

I tend to take a wait and see approach with HS kids, but my sources say the main reason Tua left was he didn’t think he could beat out Young next season. Hate it if that’s true. I think the coaches would have given Tua the benefit of the doubt if it was at all close.

Tua's 1st year as a starter with top end DC's watching every thing he did on tape... it took until about the MS State game for the DC's to lock in on his flaws. Things did not go as smoothly for him the next 6 to 8 weeks. Sark helped him make the adjustments to his game that he had to make to take that next step.

The DC's now have some good film on Mac. They will find his flaws over the summer and UGA will test themearly in his 1st season as a starter (assuming he starts). If we mix in Young playing on downs that mater all during the game rather than just at the end, it will slow how quickly the DC's can clamp down on Mac but accelerate how quickly they can find Young's flaws.

How well Young adjusts to the teaching from Sark to get beyond the DC's and how well Mac adjusts to opening the season with DC's attempting to step on his throat will determine how far our O can carry us next year. I good defense will help both of them greatly.

Both guys playing a lot is likely the best option for next year if Young can step up to that challenge.

It’s as if everyone has forgotten about the Blake Barnett hype.

I think the way the story played out for jalen and Tua in SEC title game after National Title.
Has helped Saban with Qb recruiting and having confidence in young Qb"s.
While also showing kids the benefit of developing in the program for when they decided to transfer.
Mac play so for would make him a nice transfer to certain programs Just thinking out loud a Miami,G-Tech, Uva types.
Jalen made a good choice staying and increased value.
