On wjox said the Barn's qb has regressed this year. Greg said he is 5th or 6th best in the SEC at best. Ben Leard-former barn qb was on wjox yesterday and said they have not developed a QB under Gus, if you dont include Newton-who was the complete package when he arrived. GMac said Alabama might not be put in an uncomfortable position in a game until they are in a championship setting, and that isnt a good thing. He said they need to be tested to see how they will react. (only thing I will say to that is Tua was put in a very difficult position, and we know how that turned out).

Tua is already battle tested and champion approved.

I think our best chance at being tested is LSU. After 4 games they appear to have the best defense we will see through the regular season and have a very good secondary. This should be a good match-up. Especially playing them at BR

I think the linebackers definitely need more testing.

But we know how Tua will react
Plus all the guys doing the playing now, outside of a few were playing in the title game........
Tua's the leader and the team will follow his lead so.......

If anyone knows about QB regression, it's G-Mac.

Solid burn. I still shake my head when thinking about that 2010 team.

I am not a big GMac fan of him on the air but he had me rolling the other day. He made comments about T Lawrence and said he still not seen anything that makes him stand out yet or something to that extent. CU callers started calling in and were not happy saying how would he know since he was not that great. His best was I played longer in the NFL then Taj Boyd.

We will have different positions tested by different teams. Lsu D will test our offense. Mizzou O will give our secondary some practice. Gus bus Auburn is usually a very solid team come November when it gets up to speed. Mond tested our lbs and dline on gap control pressure for DT Qb. If we lose later it won't be because we didn't almost lose earlier. Seems more like commentator talk.

I think he means the game is in question in the 4th Qtr.
Pressure to win the game.

He was better in 2010 than in 2009 though? Sure, he held onto the ball too long and probably tried to do too much in 2010, but he certainly did not "regress." And the 2010 Oline was arse.

As far as the OP, I think that Death Valley will be tough, because it's always tough, or at least it has been for the past 8 or so times we've played down there, even when we've had a clearly much better team than them. I will say that if any Bama team is going to go down there and beat the shite out of them, its going to be one with Tua at QB.

Absolutely. He had a horrible stretch of a few games in 09. Played extremely well against Florida though. Texas was another story but he was hurt that game from what I remember.

Very true as well. I think I might have called him “Freckles Mcfrickface” during the LSU game that year.

2009 stats
198-325 60.9% 2,508 yards 17 TDs 4 INTs

2010 stats
222-313 70.9% 2,987 yards 20 TDs 5 INTs

Um....how did he regress again?
